Rodney "Is it bird is it plane, no its Del boy,(trumpet sound) i Del boy will look after this small wafe, i will bring him up in the ways of Del boy, he will sell iffy suitcases on street corners and i will also teach him how to drive three wheel van, whilst completely pissed out of his skull".
You all probably know this, as this was originally meant to be the final OFAH episode, since David Jason wanted to leave the series and move onto other projects, and this would've resulted in a spin-off series entitled Hot-Rod, in which Mickey Pearce would've helped Rodney run Trotters Independent Traders.
@RoyStantz Well after this series in late 1986, apart from the 86,87 and 88 Christmas specials, there wasn't full series until January/February 1989, when the 50 minutes started to kick in, so David Jason, still had time to pursue other acting projects and probably had change of heart, cos of how popular the programme was.
@davebrdshw Only cos he idolised Del who had been his big brother and most of all his rock since he was 5 years old, anyway its comedy, so calling Rodney prick.
I love the ending of this episode, because it actually shows and proves that Del is a true family man, and how much he has actually done for Rodney, and helping him grow up. To be honest, watching that ending would make many people realise how much familes could do well with people like Del there; people who really care! He stopped a golden opportunity for his family; in my opinion, one of the best moments of this show!!!! :)
Oooops!! so sorry, mate! Hit wrong "thumbs!" meant the "UP" which wuuda gave U yer rightful total of "5!" Alls I meant 2-do was compliment yer heartfelt sentiments this episode. Much obliged...n'ZenSum!" //~_~\\
