  • @TGfoever

hi ! at euphoniumstore you will get the sheet arrangement is from eric wilson !

    cheers

  • @HrRossi76 Thx

  • @apokolohypnotis, a 5g is fine. Euphoniums sound much better with deeper mouthpieces.

  • Anyone know what mouthpiece size does he use? Is a 5g v. bach good for euph? There are guys that told me it's to big :(

  • So very awesome !

  • I love David Childs <3

  • Imm pretty sure he plays (or at least played) on a York horn..

  • 2 people just learned that a euphonium is not a mini tuba

  • So good!!!!

  • Scrap that.. I JUST JIZZED!

  • Im a horn player... WOW!

  • He is using a Bach...

  • @VMaturana93 Bach doesn't make Euphoniums..

  • @VMaturana93 My mistake, they do

  • @CiviC092 Not good ones...

  • @VMaturana93 He is using a besson

  • 181 people with a fine taste for music ;)

  • Even after making first chair all state, this motivates me to play even more

  • awesome...

  • this guy is my role model to play sick, insane euphonium solos.

  • super

  • i HATE bessons ... i know their great euphoniums and my hero plays on them but i just love the Menl-Westons

  • Him and Mead. They are both probably my favorite two euph. players. I love their playing. If I can become half this good in my life, I will be happy.

  • does anyone know the arrangement hes playing? thanks!

  • i was stuck what to play for grade 8 now i have found the peice!!!

  • And on top of him being a euph god, he's also good-looking. Huzzah!

  • this guy is freaking amazing! his tone is amazing, he can tongue faster than a freaking hummingbird's wings, he has amazing technical ability, and even as a straight male, I can tell that he could be viewed as attractive.

  • @Euphonerd of course, that's only because a hummingbird's wings cannot tongue. Besides, Czardas only requires average double-tonguing proficiency. I've even played this piece on a contrabass tuba. If you really want to hear Childs excel with tonguing, watch the video of him performing Brillante by Graham. (It's sloppy in that video, but you get a real sense of just how fast he can go)

  • @Euphonerd You should be more impressed of how he makes the tone that clear even when he's double tounging! That man has rather good flex!

  • it's so great to have this awesome euphonium music to listen to and feed from for a highschool euphonium player!

  • i wish to be the next david childs maybe even better than him (idk about that)

but he is my hero.....he is one of the reasons im still playing euphonium right now

  • @euphonium2011 he is my idol and always has been along with my brother adam x

  • David Childs is one of the most amazing players in the world. But of course it is work, work and utter work. But if you don't have inspiration from home or most of all, backup, you will never be as good. I known Davids father through some brass band stuff, and he allways said to David. Have you practiced your 3 hours to day? To wich he usually replied, 4 hours dad! :-)

  • to all euphonium players: David Childs is not amazing because he's from a family of amazing players. he's amazing cause he worked his ass off to be where he is, and is still working. I'm from Oregon, a very un-musical state, and I have aspirations to play professionally. All it is is hard work! You (we) can all do whatever we want!

    motivational speech over :D

  • He is definitely awesome!!! I mean, I want to be able to play as good as him but that'll never happen cuz he is AWESOME!!!!!!! I WISH I could play like him!! I'm not even close but then again I am only in 7th grade.

  • @jennyjh1221 <--- this kind of person is the kind of people who become good players. Not the kids who play their instrument for 5 years without ever hearing an amazing player so they have no idea what their instrument can sound like.

    Just saying.

  • perfect tone.. i feel in love !:))

  • Well, I better start practicing!

  • Quem me dera tocar isto assim, parabens

  • Playing this for my grade eight

I love playing it it's awesome

  • Does anyone know where to get this particular arrangement of Czardas for euph and wind band? Or at least who wrote it?

  • @sjaelewikser it's written by Vittorio Monti, but if you type Sean Walker trombone in the Google searchbar and click on the first link, there will be a link to download the solo pdf file for free!

  • what model of eupho does he use?

  • @dotsed in this recording he was on besson...which he is back on now.

  • @2MuchSkill I'm pretty sure its a Besson Prestige Euphonium

  • @2MuchSkill He ever used a Willson?

  • @dotsed Besson BE2051 Prestige

  • @NotSoNewJesus badass euphonium

  • @dotsed he occasionally uses a york as well as the besson prestige

  • gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood

  • Playing this for my next diploma

    It is Awesome!!!!

  • very good, tone, musicianship, style and overall efect. very good i wish i was that good. I've only been playing the Euphonium for 3 years though.

    is beautiful (:

  • Espetacular,muito show!!!Bravo!!!

  • @beachfrontal It seems anyone with the name Childs has the most beautiful tone and level of musicianship achievable. They really are ear candy at its best!! :^)

  • unbelievable...

  • Does anyone know which arrangement this is?

  • este hombre deberia de tocar Memory de rob ares

  • Tá fixe!! xD

  • does anyone know where you can get a grime gutter for the compensating valve on a euphonium????? please respond asap

  • @MrEuphoniumGuy Ebays good

  • @rachey139 thanks

  • i would kill to be able to play this solo like him :(

  • Wow. Great piece, and an excellent interpretation by all the performers. I have to say, though, I did not enjoy this as much as Baddsvic's performance on the tuba. Now THAT, was impressive, AND enjoyable.

  • @ccdlate8 true. true

  • thank you very much jackhobbsmusic,

i seriously would be happy if 'theuphoniumguy' was as good as he says he is, because i think the instruments needs to be shared to the rest of the world and we need good players to do this. the problem i hav with him is is arogance and cockyness,

just admit, u split easy notes, so admit that ur not as good as u say

  • Euph Guy, please, for the love of god, leave your dick swinging contests for another time and place. David Childs is, IMO, the best Euphonium player in the world with only Steven Mead, Michael Dodds and James Fieldhouse even getting close to him.

  • Comment removed

  • ok, its been over a week now, u said within a week at the very latest, admit it that ur not as great as u say u r.

personaly i think u should never comment on another video again, especialy about music,

  • Comment removed

  • idont know wat ur life is like, and if its not that great i can only hope things get betta, but that still doesnt give u any reason to talk urself up on a video dedicated to david childs and his amazing abilities. ill give u more time, but its not going to make a difference. and u say its cause i just wont admit its possible for someone ur age, no ur putting words in my mouth, all the best for ur life and stuff, but just do me a favour and dont comment on any more videos

  • Comment removed

  • ive just watched one of ur videos, i agree with u, u are knowhere near his level, and u saying people compare u to him is laughable

  • Comment removed

  • I have to say...

I have visited your page, and the videos you have of you playing, such as Hedwig's Theme?

Well tbf, not wanting to sound mean or whatever, but you were splitting fairly easy notes...

I have had very little experience of playing the euphonium, as I'm a trumpet player, but I have to say, I think even I could top that?

Who exactly is it that compares you to David Childs?

    Are they musicians?

  • Alright, this is pretty stupid.

@brassrulz: I've seen and heard TheEuphoniumGuy play in person, and he can do the things he says he can do. He's also a decent writer(or what ever the word is; not a music guy, here).

@TheEuphoniumGuy: Justin, your abilities are impressive, for your age, but there are still much better players out there(i.e. PROFESSIONALS, which you are not), so you don't have much room to "swing your dick," as Musicalrentboy says. Just make the fucking video, and be done with it.

  • Oi, TheEuphoniumGuy, what are you, 13? I get the impression that you're a MASSIVE tool. Post this video and show us these octave jumps and lip trills, and don't split the notes! Make your ehpho live up to its name (Greek: Eu- beautiful; Phon- sound)

If you're crap, or fail to deliver, I'll personally troll your channel for months.

    Oi, brassrulz111, represent man!

  • Comment removed

  • lol i just realised something. david childs never comments to his videos.

  • I must admit, David Childs is one of the most extraordinary players i have had the pleasure to hear (although i also very much like Adam Frey of whom i had the pleasure of taking lessons with)

As for all of the other players saying comments such as "im an above average player after etc etc years", i must say please take that chat somewhere else for it is extremely immature. You should not brag about 3 years of playing and knowing your theory (i.e. scales)

  • Comment removed

  • he didnt play a 32 note between 3:26 and 3:29 yo can notice very small lag

  • wonderfull, i prefer no coment about this, David Childs is the best Euphonium player..Please come to Brazil immediatly.

  • ooo i love it =D hes one damn good euphist!

  • hes one of the best in the world

  • how old r u? 14 ive been playing euphonium for about 1.2 years now.i was taught by my church director along with about another 6 kids for free. i still go to practice twice a week but i admit it im waaaaaaaaaaaay above avrage. i play in the school band theyve all been playing for 3 years and i am sure i could hav matched them after 3 months after i started playing at most. please post a response to this vid and play one of the hardest songs you can play i want to c how other above avrg guys play

  • um, there are 12 major scales, and 12 minor scales. That makes 24 scales. You cant count melodic minor and harmonic minor as being different. they are only different by a single note or two, and even then just a half step.

And, you cant write a solo of a song thats already written. you can arrange, thats much different.

And lets just point out that claims you make have absolutely no validity unless you can back them up.

  • Comment removed

  • i highly doubt u r at the level u claim

euphonium playing like all instruments, arent just about scales i doubt u can triple tounge duoble tounge and have a good range (both pedal notes and high notes) but the most important part is ur tone, and that comes with lots and lots and lots of practice, and im sorry i refuse to believe someone playing for the time u hav would hav the rich warm sound a proper eupho has

get back to me if u can play the likes of carnival of venice and pantomime

  • You shouldn't say things that are easily proved wrong.

My range is the lowest B natural on the piano to the F natural an octave above Middle F(which, I feel as though I should explain this since some don't know, Middle F is the F above Middle C. Is that not obvious, yet some don't know what that is). My tone is that of one who has been playing for many many more years than I have been(I've been told by many that my tone is that of one who's been playing for a decade+).

  • Comment removed

  • ur kidding me, im sorry, but people like u who claim they can do all this stuff in 2 years? i dont see a video at all, from the amount of arroganceu hav i thought ud hav a video up showing off ur skills.

its people like u who try to take away from other euphonium players. learning eupho, like any instrument, to the level u r talking takes many many years. iive come across many people just like u who claim they r phenomenal but wen it comes to backing it up they fall flat on their face,

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • all the people i hav seen flat on their face say they would post it but back out just like a guarentee u do.

from looking at ur account u seem to be the most closed minded person i hav eva had eva met. i love euphonium, brass band, orchestral music, but i also respect the musicality of rap, rock and other genres, u seem to hav such a closed mind that u cant respect these genres which adds to my argument that u r not a true musician.

  • Comment removed

  • i play euphonium too, and ive been playing for alot longer then you, but im not as arrogant as you and wont say that im sooo much better then the average eupho player, im not a jerk, which seems the perfect word to sum up up,

    ur a jerk

  • Comment removed

  • haha, ok, id love to,

and im sorry, but from what u hav been saying u should be able to play grandfathers clock, pantomime, carnival of venice, euphony, rule britannia, i dont appreciate when people publicly claim how good they are, i see that as a clear sign that they r trying hide their true ability,

if u cant play any of the above then u should never again claim publicly about u amazing euphonium playing for 2.5 years,

  • it means that the people who r usualy heaps cocky, like urself, usualy turn out to be crap

ok, stop talking about it, off u go and post some videos

  • Comment removed

  • yeh, fine, but id also like the hear some arbans triple tounging, double tounging, octave jumps and lips slurs,

  • Comment removed

  • yes, stop talking about it and actualy do it,

if u havnt posted something withing 3days ill take it my assumptions were right

  • Comment removed

  • y should it take so long, the only reason i can think of is u make a backing track with a professional and then a picture of u playing, ill give the week, but i still reacon ull pull out

  • You are funny.

  • all it takes is practice, hard work, and dedication =)

  • @MtAkIcKsAsS you forgot sensitivity and talent. some could practice all their lives and still sound like shhhhh .I have heard town bands in spain and believe me it takes a little bit more than dedication practice hardwork, you on't become world renown with out a good reason, Talent.

  • @beachfrontal you gain TALENT through practice, hard work, and education buddy.

  • @MtAkIcKsAsS And talent

  • @MtAkIcKsAsS and having your last name be Childs

  • @MtAkIcKsAsS that's right! he literally hasn't taken more than a day off practicing since he was 13 years old.
