reality is right . Creationism is wrong and based on the Bible that says that God created the world in 6 days about 10,000 years ago. Clearly the world was not created in 6 days about 10,000 years ago, so therefore the Bible is just plain wrong.If the world were merely 10,000 years old then how do you think the dinosaurs that are millions of years old? Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were all eye-witnesses keeping eye-witness accounts. Anyone who has done any research whatsoever on the scriptures knows this. Jesus was not a Roman citizen nor was he executed in a Roman court, so why would the Romans have any record of his birth or death? Put simply they wouldn't. @chessrage Actually I'm not miss informed. 1 the Romans were expert record keepers. They kept the records of births and deaths (especially executions) in their territories. 2. The gospels of Luke, Mark, John, and Matthew, the oldest surviving books were written more than 100 yrs after jesus died. Now those books could have been eye witness testimony, however we have no way of know this. Hence the leap of faith.
@Boudiga actually I think you've confused some of the details. The books were written within the lifetime of the eyewitnesses, by the eyewitnesses and or people who knew and learned from the eyewitnesses.
The only one of these authors who would have ever seen an old age was John, as all the others chose to die by execution rather than agree to lie about what they had witnessed.

The Christian religion is the only one that commands a person to love everyone as him/herself. It also happens to be based on more documented manuscripts and individuals from more geological location than most societies and culture have to represent their existence.

I find it hard to believe that serious professionals, historians and the like hold their opinions for fear of offending others. As to the imperative statement, yes it is silly of me to assert that Christianity is the only religion that teaches "love others as you love yourself." Christianity had been well established by the 4th century. Christians were being crushed, martyred for nearly 3 centuries before this happened. I grant you religion is bad one needs a relationship.

Christians and secular alike are greatly uneducated as a general rule, but I think that younger generations are now hungry for good answers. The problem is the later statement, people are not teaching basic life knowledge. Like why are we here? How should we conduct ourselves? What is our motivation? Life is precious, enjoy it. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were all eye-witnesses keeping eye-witness accounts. Anyone who has done any research whatsoever on the scriptures knows this. Jesus was not a Roman citizen nor was he executed in a Roman court, so why would the Romans have any record of his birth or death? Put simply they wouldn't. @chessrage Actually I'm not miss informed. 1 the Romans were expert record keepers. They kept the records of births and deaths (especially executions) in their territories. 2. The gospels of Luke, Mark, John, and Matthew, the oldest surviving books were written more than 100 yrs after jesus died. Now those books could have been eye witness testimony, however we have no way of know this. Hence the leap of faith.

@Boudiga actually I think you've confused some of the details. The books were written within the lifetime of the eyewitnesses, by the eyewitnesses and or people who knew and learned from the eyewitnesses.
The only one of these authors who would have ever seen an old age was John, as all the others chose to die by execution rather than agree to lie about what they had witnessed.

They were only a few of the several books found from the same print (ie this was before the printing press, but the paper, handwriting and style of book show they were copied together as a large set.) the leap of faith you are taking is that the books in the NT were originally written during jesus life time and some how all the other books found were false.

wow this guy is misinformed. 1st the bible wasn't retranslated by the greek, aramaic hebrew and latin transcripts. Often bibles went like this, a priest would translate it into latin, then take it to another country. To get the natives to follow the church they would then translate the bible, NOT from the original lang., but from the latin bible he has with him. Then that bible would be translated again to convert others who lived far away and spoke another language, the cycle continues.

web: 2 things on that: first, not many times until they reached the mss we have today, as the ones we have are close to the originals. Also, the Jews were obsessive-compulsive in their copying. One tiny error and they'd toss it out.
One more thing: there are so many copies of the mss from several lands and languages, and they have all been compared. Of the tiny number of differences, nearly all are in spelling and such things.

So, laying aside the fact that there are multiple 3rd party accounts, you're saying that if an event is not witnessed, it isn't fact?
Then I guess it's not a fact that I sleep in a bed, that I use the bathroom when I get up, or that I've watched multiple videos on youtube today. Interesting.

Laying aside the fact that there are NO multiple 3rd party accounts confirming the supernatural events of the bible, i'll try to answer your question.
I have reasons to believe that you sleep in a bed.
I have NO reason to believe that a man was walking on water 2000 years ago, because i have reasons to believe the contrary :
-Gravity
-Religions are proved to be based on myths
-No account outside Christianity confirms the event.

I would recommend looking up the Jewish historian Josephus, who did verify the Biblical account of Jesus Christ......

Josephus was suppose to mention Jesus in "Testimonium Flavianum" but the authenticity of the Testimonium Flavianum has been disputed since the 17th century, and by the mid 18th century the consensus view was that it was a forgery.
In other words, we know its bullshit since the 18th century.
Got any more *valid* sources who verify the biblical account of Jesus?
