Whoa that's crazy! I have hiked Old Rag 6 times and even did some rappelling with a friend down a 100 foot section but have never seen anything like this. I'm sure it happens, Old Rag can be a dangerous place but I'm always very careful and make sure I have the necessary medical and even survival gear with me because you truly never know what could happen.
