  • Brings back a ton of memories.

  • Only performer to do what he did. Perform at Wembley and then go to Philly

  • You gotta love everybody doing the drum hit even though he's just got the piano.

  • The crowd just made it obvious this man was one of the hottest names in the 80's and of the event...

  • THE MOST AMAZING moment of Live Aid!!!

  • I'm nineteen years old and come from sweaden, I would give up my soul to be there in that rare moment.

  • Remember when we actually gave a damn?

  • great man, great song.

  • @ClaptonBoy99 Sorry, I goofed. Some unknown named Bernard Watson was the opening act followed by Joan Baez not Judy Collins.

  • @ClaptonBoy99 Judy Collins opened Live Aid in Philadelphia (If I remember correctly) I was a bit late (It took forever to get inside) and I could hear her singing as I got in. JFK was a monster of an old stadium. A wave (remember the wave) would take minutes to go around, if it didn't die out first. Two things I remember beside the music were girls in the men's room (their line was too long) and every tiny cloud would get attention as everyone prayed they would get the 20 seconds of relief.

  • @RMoribayashi i was there too and i remember a bit different. does not mean i am right though - LOL. i thought Joan Baez opened it up in Phila and said "Children of the '80's this is your Woodstock!" then Phila band The Hooters played. i have not seen the Phila beginning on here, and it was 25+ years ago. i was on floor in front of big screen, got to JFK overnite. amazing amazing time! if anyone can shed light on opening please do so

  • @eatpigsnot Wikipedia has the entire set list including some unknown named Bernard Watson as the opening act, but you're right, it was Joan who followed. I always get Joan & Judy mixed up. She was singing Amazing Grace. You were lucky, my brother & I were stuck in the back. Just before CSN&Y there was link to Russia for a band called Autograph. Everybody in JFK booed during both of their songs.

  • He's just amazing. It's impossible not to love him ;)

  • My hero: Phil. Best drummer in the world, no nonsense.

  • Rumor has it, Phil was on coke during his flight from England to Philly.....doesn't matter, this was defintley one of his best performances ever, wish I could have been old enough to be there, was only 15 minutes away from JFK with the Vet, Spectrum in to the right.

  • @T81PA Sure during the making of the Band Aid video in 84. Status Quo brought a bag of coke and passed it around. The artists were all wired by the end of the day.

  • still can't believe this was over 20 yrs ago.....seems like yesterday purely classic and good memories....

  • oh i love him so much

  • he did this on the same day in london?

  • Concorde did the trick =)

  • @nik0la007 I remember this like it was yesterday--he flew across the big pond and sand in both places--it was great!

  • fantastic version ! He's just the best musician in the world ! I wish I could see him live

  • vilken dåre, london-concorde-philedlphia

  • Lol "Funny old world, innit "

  • Could never happen again. Concorde helped

  • Wow, thanks for putting this up. What a day it was!! Hottest day of the year but worth it.

  • no problem, enjoy!

  • Great Song !! performed by Phil A , Phil B was performing in the afternoon in England at Webley Stadium...

  • Never thought this song was that old... still, the only that would've been better than this would be him playing this on the Drums live.

  • Did my heart good to see this! What a great man. He is such a great musician!

  • Yes it goes right to your heart, doesn't it!!! Heavenly!!!

  • Jag har tummat upp din kommentar! Nu får jag säkert tummar ner för att jag skrivit på svenska..men det kan det va värt!!
