Don't get me wrong, I love Mars. And I appreciate that Mars has stopped rapping only about he is the only one that wants to purify hip-hop. But at the moment rap is about three things. You have got to have flow, you have got to have a good clean beat, and your lyrics have got to be clever. This had an ok beat an flow but wasnt really clever at all. The point of this "mainstream" song is to 1) have fun, and 2) do so in a way that is tasteful (Correct me if I'm wrong Mars). For those of you still confused, take a good look at video. Not a single scantily clad woman in sight. Also take a look at the dancing. No grinding, no overtly sexual dance moves, just good, clean, fun. The "meaning" of this video is that mainstream music CAN be tasteful AND put together well. You don't need to sexify, or inject alcohol/drugs into everything.
