@punky298705 My keyboard had a short and was missing a few keys. Trackpad was not functioning. And the magsafe had a really bad short. I bought an entire topcase and magsafe off ebay and replaced the old ones with the 'new' ones. There is a tutorial on taking a macbook apart if you do a google search & I followed that for the most part.
