Its easy to say Iraq was a wrong move, but 6 years ago even the most LIBERAL of democrats said we needed to go in. Saddam killed near one million Kurdish people and used chemical weapons and biological weapons on this own people. I say good riddance.

Obama voted no originally, but his stance nuanced as the war progressed. I supported the war for the Iraqi people. I have two brothers that served in both Afghanistan and Iraq when the going got tough.
The country is split on why we fight wars. People think we should stop "nosing" in foreign countries and some think we should help countries and spread democracy. While executed fast, Bush actually made a choice instead of sandbagging becuase of politics.
Here's the kicker, I supported that war as well, only, and I do fully admit this, I supported it due to the (excuse my lingo here) bullshit excuse of WMD's. after I heard the reasonings change over the years, and watching all the chaos that has ensued (and has yet to for that matter) my position is radically changed on Iraq. As for Afghanistan, I never once stopped believing that's where our real fight should be. I commend your brothers, they do a job not many are willing to do.
I could go further on the shortcomings of Bush, but I'm sure you've heard them all, and I know them to be quite overused. The only one I will mention (in relation to Iraq) is that he stepped in headstrong, with little forethought to long term consequence. Iraq, in theory, would have been a better idea had we taken the time to properly asses the full extent of the situation. Learned their history, perhaps realized what tipping the balances of power might have done, and then acted accordingly.
Estimates range from 600 thousand to 1.1 million iraqi casualties since the war began and you call that liberation and anyway the whole point of the war was WMD's and the falsified links to al-qaeda so dont bother trying to justify it with some other bullshit reason. Obama has just started (it's gonna take a long time too after 8yrs of fuck-ups) to reverse americas aggresive foreign warfare policy and the whole world can see it with their own eyes hence a peace award.Gorbachov got one for...ctd

Obama voted no originally, but his stance nuanced as the war progressed. I supported the war for the Iraqi people. I have two brothers that served in both Afghanistan and Iraq when the going got tough.
The country is split on why we fight wars. People think we should stop "nosing" in foreign countries and some think we should help countries and spread democracy. While executed fast, Bush actually made a choice instead of sandbagging becuase of politics.

I could go further on the shortcomings of Bush, but I'm sure you've heard them all, and I know them to be quite overused. The only one I will mention (in relation to Iraq) is that he stepped in headstrong, with little forethought to long term consequence. Iraq, in theory, would have been a better idea had we taken the time to properly asses the full extent of the situation. Learned their history, perhaps realized what tipping the balances of power might have done, and then acted accordingly.
