You do realise...cutting dogs/cats nails hurts them.....and what's the point? I have a 14 year old german shepard and not once did we trim his nails. Perfectly fine

Be thankful it just screams, my dog yelps, growls and tries to bite your hand off. Unfortunately he has bitten me and my family before while cutting his nails so we have to use a muzzle.

shibas do not do pain well and they scream. This is what it sounds like. It curdles the blood. I don't cut my dog's nails, but I bought an electric grinder and I just proceed very slowly so as not to let heat build up from the friction which also hurts the dog. That is how I get his nails short.  The other way is just to exercise the dog enough to keep the nails short naturally. You do need to keep the nails short or they get arthritis.

It's better to give him a nice daily walk in a park which will reduce his nails naturally AND his weight as well.

@grettagrids Nope. Perhaps you are thinking of Akita Inus. They are basically the Shiba X 3 ins size. They are classified as dangerous and put in the same category as Rottweilers, pitt bull terriers by many insurance agencies, thus increasing your rates. They aren't illegal though.

When I use to give my Shiba a bath at the self service (it's cheaper) they all thought I was hurting/abusing her. They would look into the room to make sure I wasn't!!! lmao I finally gave up and let the groomer deal with her for now on!!
