I wonder if this is the Amati violin he's using? I'm not very versed in specific instrument lineages, but this sounds quite crisp and "up" to me. At this tempo, he's getting some great resonances that almost float or even prowl around under the melody at times, like pedals on an organ or bagpipe drone, but he seems to be able to turn it on and off at will. I've noticed this in his playing before. Oh, and didn't Bach write a lot of stuff specifically to illustrate structure, too?
He plays tooooo fast !! To savor appropriately this wonderful piece of music you should play it with a great calm. I don't like the musicians who play Bach's masterpieces with that absurd rush. Play Bach with calm and you will savor all the beauty inside his music!
This is an amazing translation of this piece... i like how he emphasizes the beginning with outstanding accents to captivate the audience but later shifts to the bachian style again... very articulate as well
I don't like his playing of this piece. It feels rushed, rhythm is a bit off, the phrasing does not sound good, the violin sound quality is screechy, stong accents on every beat makes it sound awkward, the tonic is not emphasized as it should be. It should be reworked and practiced more to get it to a higher level.
AMAZING!!!!

It is not too fast. He is using speed to point out some structural things.

Beautiful..I always consider this one of the "easier" pieces of Bach to tackle..but to make it sound like this? This is fabulous!
