" Daphne. Take it from someone who knows. You don't want to spend half your life thinking about a chance you didn't take ". Niles is right. I'm taking every chance I get from now on.
God, I can't get over this episode. I absolutely love Niles and Daphne together. And when it comes to the later seasons, I agree that they were lacking the quality of the earlier seasons, but they were still much better than most shows now. I still thought the show was funny and witty after this season. And I'm one of those few people who still adored Daphne later on.
And I agree with those who said Ross and Rachel's relationship got old. I mean, I didn't even really believe the finale when they got together for good.
I actually started shivering while watching this, just because of the sheer emotional intensity Jane and David convey. I am so unbelievably happy that this ended well, because honestly, the acting is done so well that for a second, I believed that it may not happen. And what a tragedy that would have been. Long live Frasier, the best sitcom ever.
"I think you can call me Niles now"that line got stuck in my head since I have first heard it years ago,I think those two had the longest romantic tease in tv show history,I mean it took them 7 seasons if I m not mistaken to get together
i love Simon with his "last call" and "is this the bloke who's baby youre having" haha you got your baby to think of.. IN THE END, there was that kiss. *sigh*
It's truly amazing how emotionally charged this episode this. The acting is postitively brilliant. When a tv sitcom can elicit such an intense response from the viewer, you know it's well beyond what is expected of a show.
I was so bummed. First, the sound went out on my TV, so I couldn't watch the reruns on the CW. Then, I found it online, and with only 3 minutes left on this episode, it shut off, saying I'd watched my limit for the day and to come back in an hour. Thank you SO much for posting this!
@shelbyville1 Now I have a difrent opinion. I think that if the writers kept them apart, the same joke would have driven away the audience because we all would have said, "ENOUGH ALREADY!!!"
@vhickerson I agree with you because if I was watching the show back then I would have definitely been one of those fans that would want them together because they deserve to be together after 7 years!!
Also if they kept them apart I think the audience would get tired out of it and stop watching the show IMO!!
@shelbyville1 I for one would have stopped watching if they DIDN'T get paired up. We have waited for this for a long time it would have broken my heart. It's much better than Rachel and Ross in Friends, I got bored with they're together-they broke up-they're together-they broke up pattern, at the end you just don't give a f@#$.Frasier could have given more than 11 seasons, Niles dealing with a child, Martin's married life and Frasier finally settling down with someone, Ros for example.
What would have happened if she did end up marrying Donny? Would Daphne have stopped visiting Frasier and Martin? Could be so awkward even though they'd likely forgive her, they tried to talk Niles out of being interested in her for years! It's pretty cool they gave into it eventually though.
Here's something I wonder if anyone else has thought about. If Martin hadn't been shot they'd never have met Daphne. Well...Niles wouldn't. Watch the Season 3 finale.
Maybe I am crazy... but I liked this show better when Niles and Daphne were not together... To see Niles adore Daphne from a distance was a lot more funnier
@raovivek79 yeah it was funnier, but how long could they drag that out for? Eventually it would really start to get old. I think they got them together at the right time and I don't think that was the only reason why the later seasons weren't as funny
Omg I remember first time i watched this episode going through all of the seasons, cant stop getting all emotional everytime i watch it! Niles is adorable
Writers weren't "idiots," you have have no idea how sitcoms work. drama is built over time so that it's this sweet when two characters finally do get together.
Ross n Rachel was a high school crush (for Ross) that turned into a romance later; Niles and Daphne being in their 30s made it more mature. Plus the biggest thing: seven years of ON SCREEN tension built. Ross & Rachel just one season.
I raise my glass to the greatest sitcom and the most awesome couple ever to be created in a TV series.Kudos to everyone who contributed for this show and made it so excellent!!
this is the episode that gave what all frasier fans had been longing for in seven years. very heart-warming and memorable, i felt like i had butterflies in my stomach when i saw this years ago :)
Amazing! I was fortunate enough to watch the show in its entire run and see the relationship between Daphne and Niles unfold over the years. The characters are a perfect complement to each other and Jane Leeves and David Hyde Pierce did a terrific job playing them! Pure genius!
