Wait! Are those white lines in 1:44 a missile trails? If so, the pilot's pants must have been full of shit ;P. What kind of SAM sytstems were operating in the area? Any infos?
@adamlslda those are missile trails, and there are some at the beginning also,They are larger trails. This was a mission at the start of the Iraq war.He had a fully loaded jet with missiles on his way to a designated target. If hit, he would have been blown to bits, but all the info I have is that he did evade the SAM's and delivered his load, then returned safely.
@lysyrg25 I can't read a G value from the HUD, but judging by pilot's breath it was pretty high. So if he returned safely to base, then there weren't any serious overstresses, right? Or those F-16 are tougher than i thought, or payload wasn't heaviest at all :P.
BTW.: I wonder why the hell Iraqis air defenses were so ineffective against NATO's planes, when Serbians using pretty same equipment managed to achieve a lot higher ratio of shotdowns per missile...
@knotwrite It's quite different situation when you have bombs and stuff hanging beneath wings, the structural stresses generated on wings by payload's additional weight makes it vulnerable to much lower G's than it would withstand in clean config. But i don't know, maybe he dropped the payload before he started evasive maneouvers, i was just wondering.
well thats one way to stay alive...

@adamlslda I thought those planes could comfortably achieve 13 Gs but were locked at 9.
