This choir sounds like our choir WANTS to sound like and I have to say that listening to this now inspires me all over again to give it my all for our own concert in October 2011. One thing the Main choir Leaders in Cape Town MUST DO is take all this back to the members in the congregation choir levels and not just keep it to a select few.

GO BACK TO THE ROOTS AND BASICS DO NOT FORGET WHERE THIS STARTED!

@waynewrg A cogregation choir is unique alone because it is the sound of all kinds of voices.An adult choir, children's choir, youth choir, opera chorus etc......each has its own sound.Surely a chorus master would be thrilled to have as many good voices in a congregation choir, but have to sometimes be satisfied with 1 good SATB if he/she is lucky, but this is very rare.I enjoy listening to proffesional choirs, and congretion choirs.Taking back you can and impliment but itwont change a thing.

What you suggest is exactly what is happening. many congregations and areas have wonderful orchestras and choirs. It is just that you might not be aware of it.
