John's statements & lyrics include both sides of the issue (photographed wearing a cross). I don't know. "Imagine" listed historical (pathetic) reasons for war (religion, possessions); it is an anti-war tune. I respect anyone's right to believe he's gone forever. I disagree; I think his spirit lives on. To each their own. Peace.
