@RudeBoyDre187 ....It can run on either pump gas or race gas. Ran race gas through it this summer. Still have about 15 gallons to go before I get a new drum.
@fireblastingway2many Transmission is the weak link in the chain. It is a Munci m-21 4 speed. I will eventually switch it over to a Tremec TKO-600 5 speed. It is about the most hardened high torque/HP tranny you can buy out of the box that is a reasonable amount of money.
@Ls3guy No, it was not hard to put it in. Took a little bit of time to find just the right motor mounts to get it to clear an air filter with a stock type cowl hood though. Motor mounts are solid and you can barely fit a piece of cardboard in-between the front of the oil pan and the front subframe crossmember. Only changes to the motor itself was the oil pan, oil pump and the pickup. Other than that, it dropped right in.
@Ls3guy The pan is a Milodon # 30975 The pickup tube and pump are also Milodon I believe. It is setup for a 7 3/4" deep pan.
Motor Mounts are a mystery. I had 4 sets of them, and chose the one that gave me the least amount of clearance between the front crossmember and the pan. A sheet of paper will fit in there, but not a piece of cardboard. They are solid mounts. Solid for the tranny. Solid body mounts. Solid leaf spring bushings. It rides rough, but it is solid.
You can put a supercharger on just about anything. You will probably want to lower the compression ratio down to something a little more supercharger friendly first though.
Nah. If I am going to build a blown big block, I will build an all aluminum monster motor. This thing makes enough power with no adders for the street.
@iliveinpublic so what kind of mufflers does your 572/720r sing threw bought that motor for my daily driver mud bogger i'm running mine on 105 octane gas thanks to torco race fuel addative.
@nazarethfan89 .....They are two chambler flowmasters. Exhaust goes over the axle, then pointed at angles away from the car down. Blows leaves and debris away from the vehicle.
@nazarethfan89 .....They are two chamber flowmasters. Exhaust goes over the axle, then pointed at angles away from the car down. Blows leaves and debris away from the vehicle.
It was moe expensive than the car it was put into. heh. Of course I bought the car back in 1994 for $4600.00, but that was a while ago. It was a good enough deal that I would gladly buy another one. Keep your eyes peeled. There was a guy in Canada that has a 620 horse motor that was new and unfired that was asking $7500.00 for it on a message board about camaros maybe 4 months ago. The cost to ship it by truck would be less than $450.00
yea i have seen them on sale by the Chevy company but they're asking $12,000 to $13,000 per engine...i already have a car i have a 1970 Buick skylark, i already have the engine bay ready for the beast!
Getting the engine compartment ready is always a fun chore. Lots of cleaning, painting, wire loom messes to cleanup, etc. Takes a lot longer to do the prep, than to drop the motor fo sure.
is this run on pump gas only ?
