Thanks for sharing this! I've loved IIV since the early 80's thanks to CBC radio (brave new waves). I still think Dale has one of the best voices on the planet!
Sorry, but this is terrible. Whichever synth is playing the big church organ chords during the choruses is way too loud, and I'm not sure if it's the guitar or one of the synths, but somebody is out of tune as well.
I saw IIV twice. The first time was when they opend for Duran Duran (1984, I think). I saw them again a year later at the QE Theatre when they opened for Howard Jones. Another example of great Canadian talent. The keyboardist is now a high school teacher in Surrey.
I will never forget the first and only time I saw them live, at the Seattle Arena opening for Duran Duran in 1984 (or 83). Everybody was sitting on the floor as if in protest, waiting for DD. When Images in Vogue came on and Dale Martindale came out onstage it took less than half of their first tune before everyone jumped to their feet and moved right toward the stage. My friend almost got trampled. That was the first time I'd ever heard of them. Unbelievable live show.
jsbx5, This was on the morning news program called "Vancouver". IIV was a musical guest on that show several times. Go to their official site (it ends in ".ca" now not ".com") and there's a bunch more live performances on the "Vancouver" show. Click on "Videography" on their site.

@vinomaniac
Not exactly. I mean, Kevin Crompton, the drummer, became Cevin Key, the musical backbone of Skinny Puppy.

The professional and proper "voice over intro." is so disconcerting...very much like 80's new wave...wonderful!

One of the greatest songs of the 80's. To hear it always brings back great memories of the music movement going on when this song came out.
