  • Amazing band should have been MUCH bigger so sad!! Saw them live they were EXCELLENT!

  • Thanks for sharing this! I've loved IIV since the early 80's thanks to CBC radio (brave new waves). I still think Dale has one of the best voices on the planet!

  • Sorry, but this is terrible. Whichever synth is playing the big church organ chords during the choruses is way too loud, and I'm not sure if it's the guitar or one of the synths, but somebody is out of tune as well.

  • joe the keyboard player was the organist in my church in the 70.s....

  • God!!! I still love this band... after so many years.

  • They became Skinny Puppy . . . awesome!

  • @vinomaniac

Not exactly. I mean, Kevin Crompton, the drummer, became Cevin Key, the musical backbone of Skinny Puppy.

  • They played my high school. I'm officially old. Thanks for posting!

  • ..and then after harry potter met the robinsons

  • dude cevin key was in this band

  • Thanks for posting Tommie! Great stuff.

  • The professional and proper "voice over intro." is so disconcerting...very much like 80's new wave...wonderful!

  • Dan Duran?

  • Saw them in Toronto at the concert hall opening for Depeche Mode and they destroyed. Depeche Mode were so boring after see IIV. Great stuff!

    D

  • One of the greatest songs of the 80's. To hear it always brings back great memories of the music movement going on when this song came out.

  • what the heck!?

  • I saw IIV twice. The first time was when they opend for Duran Duran (1984, I think). I saw them again a year later at the QE Theatre when they opened for Howard Jones. Another example of great Canadian talent. The keyboardist is now a high school teacher in Surrey.

  • Thank god for YouTube so great songs and groups can be discovered and rediscovered over and over. Great post.

  • yey amzing canadien band

  • bring me back home

  • my god that takes me back

  • Cevin Key from Skinny Puppy is drumming :)

  • I will never forget the first and only time I saw them live, at the Seattle Arena opening for Duran Duran in 1984 (or 83). Everybody was sitting on the floor as if in protest, waiting for DD. When Images in Vogue came on and Dale Martindale came out onstage it took less than half of their first tune before everyone jumped to their feet and moved right toward the stage. My friend almost got trampled. That was the first time I'd ever heard of them. Unbelievable live show.

  • Lol! Awesome!

My favourite band back in highschool

  • Whoa..nice! What show was this on? Thanks for the post!!..I've posted a number of IIV videos..reall cool to see a live performance!

  • jsbx5, This was on the morning news program called "Vancouver". IIV was a musical guest on that show several times. Go to their official site (it ends in ".ca" now not ".com") and there's a bunch more live performances on the "Vancouver" show. Click on "Videography" on their site.

  • OUCH those keys are loud!

    Great vid!
