@IamEpicization He is immortal, thanks to what Rose did when she possessed the Heart of the Tardis ("Parting of the Ways"). He can even regenerate from being atomized in an explosion ("Torchwood: Children of Earth"). However, he's still aging, albeit very slowly ("Last of the Timelords"), so given enough time, he could morph/evolve into the Face of Boe.

The Doctor doesn't know what will happen to Jack if he lives "a thousand years", meaning he could be The Face of Boe.

It's amazing how much younger Jack looks when he first meets the Doctor, and it's not just John Barrowman looking younger, his whole demeanour is much more innocent and carefree :) I love how JB can portray that so easily, it makes Jack so real (and angsty!)

@Ljeac I really can't, it was one of the cruelest things The Doctor has ever done, an utter betrayal of trust to someone who literally laid down his life for him. It was pretty much unforgivable in my book, regardless of the circumstances.

@Ljeac i think the whole point is it was very easy for him, much easier to run away than deal with the mess. Which is pretty in character for The Doctor. He can and always has been a bit of a bastard at times, though rarely more so than here. The thing is, once he spends a small amount of time with Jack there is no problem. So nope, I don't empathise at all with The Doctor here, and tbh I don't think your really supposed to.....

It was rumored to know the secrets of the universe, and no one knows where exactly where exactly he is from. It appears in "The End of the World", "New Earth", and "Gridlock".

Jack's little comment there implies that he is or will become the Face of Boe, and that Martha and the Doctor have found the Face of Boe's origin.
