Bmw Z4 and SLK 55 are great car, however the SLK AMG is only automatic ... too bad, for this reason I would pick the Z4 before.

@SLK320GTG cuase some brands give less torque to their automatic cars because the gearbox may not stand too much torque, that's why sometimes I'd prfer a manual gearbox. I.e.: Gold TDI140 DSG has clearly less power than the manual version.

@SLK320GTG i think manual transmission is the best way to drive every car (except s class or other really big sedans). I like to have the full controll over the car, and shifting is a part of dynamic driving for me. Because i want to shift up and down when i want and use the clutch then i want. But the new two clutch direct transmissions like DSG or PDK are really interesting. I think i will test it, when i have the chance. But Mercedes does need a bit of time until they bring a DSG

I just came back from spain where my dad owns a slk55. With alot of tries i managed to get the 0-100 time (stopwatch) down to a 4.97 sec, the road was very hot and slippy. I must admit that this car has so much torque that the power is very hard to get on to the ground. Even with the traction control swiitched on it is very tailhappy. It is an amazing car to drive but the handling could be better. I am trying to get my father to purchase a LSD system from kleemann this very moment :)

People think it's slow simply because all the numbers are crammed up together on the speedo, note it goes up to 320km/h. On an average car the 100km/h point would be on the top of the speedo whereas here it's 1/3 of the way, therefore the needle moves slower and makes it feel slower. It's actually really fast!

das ist halt leider mercedes...die mercedes zielgruppe fährt automatik! leider auch schon fast alle die sich einen ferrari, lambo, audi r8 etc kaufen (ein sequentielles getriebe ist für mich automatik) - als würden sie damit rennen fahren wo jede zehntel zählt. solche autos gehören einfach manuell geschaltet, da geb ich dir recht
