Robot is nice BUT it isn't pneumatic !!! it is normal linear electric motors with transmition belt and rotary encoders.

If somebody is interested it this robot I have some documentation about it.

ok here it goes guys. the actuator type used here are called muscles.

:) they contract 20 percent of the nominal length when pressure is applied, usually 6bars family class MAS-40

Hi there,

Fluid Muscles are a part of the festo range, but the actuators showen here are as mentioned below are DGE models, with high speed servo's running on Festos latest 3D robotic controller in cunjuntion with their CPX modular terminal.

Festo gear = awesome!

Those are electric DGE-...-RF actuators (not pneumatic).

DGE is belt drive, RF is their new roller-guide series... There's SP which is spindle drive (ballscrew) and ZR (belt drive).

...I know it because I design automation using FESTO components, so I know the catalogue inside out. ;)
