Fluid Muscles are a part of the festo range, but the actuators showen here are as mentioned below are DGE models, with high speed servo's running on Festos latest 3D robotic controller in cunjuntion with their CPX modular terminal.
I think he means It looks like something from the Aperture science laboratories, as opposed to something from the Black Mesa research facilities... Unless you play many video games you probably wont understand.

Robot is nice BUT it isn't pneumatic !!! it is normal linear electric motors with transmition belt and rotary encoders.
If somebody is interested it this robot I have some documentation about it.

ok here it goes guys. the actuator type used here are called muscles.
:) they contract 20 percent of the nominal length when pressure is applied, usually 6bars family class MAS-40

Festo gear = awesome!

Its cool. I think the cylinders used here is a rodless type cylinder and with precision linear movement control.

Pneumatic robot lol.

Those are electric DGE-...-RF actuators (not pneumatic).
duckjock 3 years ago
how do you know this?
and what is a "DGE-...-RF" actuator?
roidroid 3 years ago
DGE is belt drive, RF is their new roller-guide series... There's SP which is spindle drive (ballscrew) and ZR (belt drive).
...I know it because I design automation using FESTO components, so I know the catalogue inside out. ;)

well dammit.
that means i'm still yet to see a pneumatic Delta Robot. i wanna see one :(

It must be great there :D
