Why do all udk games on youtube have the same character and hud? I'm guessing its the default built into udk or something (I'm no game designer but I'm interested in learning) but is it not fairly easy to change them to a custom model?

@DeeBee396 Getting things working is the main priority. After you've got everything working and functional you can think about getting custom models made and making things look nice.

Cool concept. Instead of having the fixed camea it will help the gameplay if you change the Kismet to a console command for 3rd person. That will fix your camera wobbles when jumping.

when u make games using UDK does this games needs installation ? or can u just copy paste it on other computer?

Installing would be the best alternative. If you dont package it and just .rar .zip your UDK folder your game will be editable and your work can easily be remade and/or stolen.

Thanks. Well you could use anything you see here. I dont mind. This project is frozen for the time being because my lack of programing knowledge. Plus need to improve my 3D skills as well.

Don't listen to the tits telling you to improve the graphics, its a waste of time.

Making your own art sytle however, could be worthwhile and add extra uniqueness.

While we're on the topic of uniqueness...

Noone's going to play a completely run-of-the-mill platformer that's like every other.

You need to at least vary the challenges, not just a pendulum, and ideally come up with some of your own ideas. If you email me I'll even SUGGEST an idea.

How did you get the health on your game? I see you have five hearts and I need to do that for my game. Hope you can help cause i need to do it very soon!

I made a custom HUD with 5 red hearts down to 5 dark red and then I made in kismet that everytime a player spawns it closes the previous scene and opens a the new one with lower fewer hearts.

BTW this is a great game concept. I've seen simular things done before, but nothing exactly like this. This is truly unique. And if all the content in it is self created you have a right to claim copyright. It is a truly great game. Like falconianuk said. Should work on perfecting it and getting some nice graphical content. Get out that pencil and paper and start working on artwork concepts! =-D

nice, cool, I like it, seems to me though that there is already a game like this out there, it was released on the PS3 some years ago, all about a little boy running from island to island, or should I say jumping, All you need is some great graphics to go along woth your game.

90 % kismet :) The only thing that is unreal scripted is some classes just to make it its own game and removing the default HUD.
