  • damn that goes deep, but it has to get right into the muscle

  • i touch the end of one once with my thumb and it went into my bone and im only 12 AND i got an infection, because of witch i got my thumb amputated.

  • @ninjadude9119 If it went into your finger and bone from just touching it you go serious problems

  • I have allergic reactions where my throat closes and iv taken an epi pen many times. It hurts way less than a doctors shot trust me! even im afraid of needles but an epi pen seriously isnt that bad. The only part that is scary is right before you stab. But as soon as the needle is in your body u wont feel a thing

  • Last night i accidently shot it into my thumb, i cracked my thumb bone and bent the needle

  • funnily enough, I can imagine doing it if I was dying.

  • idiots

  • This is a patently STUPID and UN-HELPFUL demonstration that will put off the squeemish and prevent them for using a potentially life saving product.

    Congratulations guys! :(((((

  • I just found out that I'm alergic to bees because I was stung after school and when my mom saw me-Shes a Cardiac Nurse-she new immediatly that I got her jeans. my older sister is alergic to nuts and stuff so we got epi pens through out the house and car bag everywhere lol

  • There are a lot of things wrong here...

for starters that PEAR WAS INNOCENT!!!!

  • when you are having an allergic reaction, the last thing on your mind will be needle pain

  • so that what it look like

  • also btw, it anyone who says it doesn't hurt probably hasn't had to use one. Your body is already hypersensitive depending how bad the anaphylaxsis has got, but the pain goes away very quickly. Also hold the Epi-Pen in the leg for at least 10 seconds before pulling out.

  • Let me tell from experience, if you need to use it don't hesitate because of the pain it will cause. I am extremely allergic to peanuts and have had to inject myself with the Epi-Pen because of anaphylaxis. This will save your life!! Here is another warning most doctors don't tell their patients. DO NOT inject the second Epi-Pen into the same leg, switch because a second shot in the same area will cause muscle death and ugly crater in your leg. Take the second shot if needed in the other leg

  • OMG, I'm so scared that I will have to use mine. At least avocados are reletively easy to avoid...

  • I carry one with me. This scared me even more. thanks for sharing, I at least got a smile.

  • im going to my allergist to talk about using epi- pens, since my allergies are getting very very bad! and im terrified of needles. im 13 and i cant go to the doctor to get a shot without bawling my eyes out. :[ im scared to use this thing! does it hurt?!?!?!? :[

  • @TheKiOwA0 better than dying aint it? haha the pain from shots only last 10-15 seconds and you gotta leave the needle in for 10 seconds then massage your thigh. my girlfriend is deadly allergic to bug bites and flowers its saved her life quite a few times.

  • Thanks for scaring the crap out of me! Just got mine yesterday : / Hope I will never have to use it!

  • Ur supposta use it on an orange. That's why it splattered and got gross everywhere a pear is too soft.

  • People can get treatment from that. First you clean the site and inject into anywhere there is a muscle. You bend the needle on a hard surface and store it in the tube.

  • I'm so glad that after over 10 years of carrying these things around with me, I've never had to use one. I got nervous just setting one of the out of date ones off for a laugh! Still, in a life and death situation, I'm stabbing myself. I wish they would hurry up and come out with that nut allergy cure though.

  • it doesn't actually hurt as bad as you think

  • i mean needles are fucking shit!!

Not that i have one or the mythbusters have one

OOPS: i lied actually do u kno that tory has one??

    mythbusters secret

  • oh shit

    -------is ----------

  • Ive used an epipen once, and truthfully i dont remember any pain, at all. I didnt even feel the needle go in, so i wasnt even sure i did it right, but thank god, my hives got better.

  • pears arent legs and you need a much steadier hand then you had.

  • its a pear dipshit

  • HAHA i got mine today ... i hate needles XD man xD ama stay away from those nuts ._. why dose it have to be so big :(

  • i wish i didn't watch this..i have severe allergies !!! D:

  • i had to use my epipen today because some moron gave me a drink that had milk in it.... it doesnt hurt really

  • @pauliejay77

    okay thats good

  • Thank you for producing the video on what NOT to worry about when your having a serious allergic reaction. Please ask your parents or a teacher to help you with how to protect yourself if your ever faced with performing this procedure. Or go to an emergency room with your Epi Pen if no one is available to help you. Any child/teen will be receive the proper instruction (or Fire Department).

  • @TheRikRoll the pen expired, u cant use it, if u do u will probolbly die

  • 0:37 Thats what she said ;)

  • INSANE IN THE BRAIN

  • epi pen dont hurt wen u in into anaphylaxis vos u dont feel anything cos u r all swelled up

  • I didn't know what a epipen was and I just shot one through my fucking thumb

  • You don't think you could do it to yourself? So you'd rather die from anaphylaxis?

  • Probably*

  • lol I proably sound stupid..but whats an epi pen? lik what does it do? I've heard of it..just never knew what it was used for

  • @975mas it's emergency dose of epinephrine. What it does is counter a very severe allergic reaction. For example if you're allergic to peanuts and you unknowingly eat some in a cake and then get into an anaphylactic(allergic) shock(throat starts closing up,things swell) this could and will save your life by giving you a dose of the drug Epinephrine.

  • haha i put that in my finger being a retard and it came through 0_o holy shit i dropped it so fast that i didn't know that the needle would be that long fuck

  • OMG CAN U IMAGINE DYING???

  • It doesnt even hurt

and im a pussy with pain

  • I used one last night. my friend had one and i was like hey ima use that and i did. it feels like someone punched you in the leg like kinda hard then you get really shaky :D

  • HAHAHAHAHA I used my sister's Epi-pen just for fun!

...I felt tachycardia... But damn!!! I was so full of energy!! It felt like drinking a box of monster and red bull!!

  • @Sexisttroll that's a stupid thing to do cuz epi-pens contain epinephrine DUH which can be fatal if you're not in shock..if ur not dying then don't use it

  • @hockeydude753 *injecting* ....wait... what?

  • Has anyone here ever had to actually fire off an EpiPen? I just got mine, and have used the training device. I just want someone to tell me what its like. I imagine that when you can't breathe, you really don't give a shit what it feels like.

  • hope you got a replacement epipen after using that one! don't go anywhere without bringing it!

  • if ur scared of that

watch how this kid does it!

    type

    'Nut Allergies'

    on youtube

  • yes, it hurts like hell but it saved my life once so I'm thankful.

  • hahahahaha

Im pretty sure that wouldn't matter when it could give you an extra 15 minutes before paramedics arrive.

It's not like it's life or death, oh wait..

  • Yeah, but your thigh is squishy so hardly any damage would happen. Maybe just a bruise. A pear, however, is hard 'n dense and an impact like that would destroy it as was evident in the video. Do not let the fact that the pear's surface exploded think twice about using it when you really need to. Just remember that the pear is harder than you. I wish you the best of luck should you ever find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing to use it.

  • Toxic ? No No , Have An Adrenaline Filled Pear !

  • i have on (alergy to nee stings) i am afraid of it!!

  • i've had to use an epi pen 4 times. they dont hurt at all!

  • OMG they don't hurt that bad just like softley pinch ur leg 4 10 seconds

  • OMG they don't hurt that bad

  • You can't throw a needle in the garbage. I hope you didnt!

  • duh

  • ok good! lol! sorry I just had to ask!

  • lol yeah.

  • @littlepinkbunny121 are you canadian? (:

  • had 2 use 1 last night

  • ooo i never thought of doing that. mightg try it when mine runs out

  • Comment removed

  • i have a servere peanut allergy i have too have an epipen

  • OMG.. Could you imagine dying to a peanut allergy cause you were too chicken to stick that into your leg?

  • I accidently got one of those to go through my thumb

  • i would rather do that then die... and if you have not noticed your thigh is not as soft as a pear

  • when i was in forth grade i remember carrying a epi pen. remember people your body is not the equivalent to a pair so if you ever half to yous a epi pen then it wont look anything like that so don't get all surprised

  • Ouch..that must bruise like fuck!

I have to carry one around for my friend who is allergic to bee and wasp stings just incase he forgets his..if he ever has to use it I'm looking away!

  • Holy tits. That is huge! I have to carry one because of a peanut allergy. Wow. That's frightening thought. Thank you for this, I've been wanting to know how big the needle is.

  • Trust me, when you are going into anaphylaxis my dear, you won't feel the pinch of Epi-Pen. Your skin has nerve endings but muscles surprisingly are devoid of nerves so once you pierce the skin, you won't feel much, BUT im sure if you are truly in anaphylaxsis your mind will be quite a bit more preoccupied with trying to breathe. This Pen saves lives, DONT BE DISCOURAGED, IF YOU NEED IT CARRY IT, IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Dr. Artin PharmD. (Doctor of Pharmacy)

  • Thanks so much Dr. Artin, Your comment is very valued. especially on a Video like this one.

    I'm supposed to carry one.

  • @littlepinkbunny121 It's true. People with Multiple Sclerosis have to give themselves shots in their leg muscles every week if they take Avonex and after a while you kinda get used to it. Trust me, that firm jab will very likely stun the nerve endings so you probably won't feel it as bad as otherwise. Thanks for posting this, I was wondering about how long and what gauge the needle was. Looks to be 23g X 1.25".

  • @littlepinkbunny121 you wont feel a thing, trust me. My dad had to inject me with one because i was having a reaction to something unknown.. they think its idiopathic anaphylaxys or whatever. Once you start not being able to breathe you'll want that giant needle jammed into your leg. I would know ;p

  • DR Artin i have a question about allergies see i have the second type moderate and dont need a epi pen but is their a chance i might and im allergic to the simple things pollen dust ragweed you know

  • What I can tell you is that Epi-Pens are prescribed for patients who have shown an "anaphylactic" response. It means that when exposed to an allergen a LIFE THREATENING reaction occurs. Unless your allergies are producing a LIFE THREATENING immune system reaction, I wouldn't worry about it. If you are truly concerned talk to your doctor, they usually will write you a prescription for one just in case.

  • thank you but i just have a second level allergy to pollen which means i might need one but not life threating

  • Speak to your doctor or an allergist. Tell them your concerns and they will tell you your best course of action. If your allergies are truly bad, diphenhydramine 50mg (benadryl 50mg) would be great for a 2nd tier level non emergency, just in case it gets a little severe take 50mg of benadryl. It will be a bit sedating but it works MUCH better than all other anti-histamines.

  • well the sedateing effects i can't do that because im a student and my dad examined me and basic antihistamines will work

  • well as long as you know what works for you, but make sure you run it through with your doctor. As far as your health goes you ALWAYS rather be safe than sorry. Have a great day!

  • i will i have a check up soon

  • @o0tinerz0o yer im 11 and i have verry BAD ellergic to peanuts i might die if i have 1 AHHHHHHHHHHHHH :(

  • @o0tinerz0o When i was in anaphylaxis i had to do the epi pen. i didn't feel anything but after a few days later you can start to feel the bruise.

  • o fuck i cary one and this aint encouraging...

  • your skin doesnt move like a pear on a table.. fools

  • This Vid is just to show how big the Needle is.

  • what would happen i u ate the fruit ?? :o

  • omg i never want to have 2 use mine...death 2 bee's!

  • I have an epipen but, luckily, I've never used it so far. Your video is not very encouraging! The needle is not very thin, is it?

  • its a .20 gauge needle..gives u a quick pinch

  • @benjaminredcloud Nope...not really! It's heavy duty so it can get through jeans if need be.

  • @benjaminredcloud its not the needle that hurts the impact and sudden rush of fluid (medicine) into your muscle otherwise the needle would feel like any other needle just a pinch

  • @benjaminredcloud lol agree with the comment oww..

  • @benjaminredcloud The needle may not be thin but you don't feel it at all. Pushing it onto your thigh hurts more than the actual needle. I used one today and it started helping immediately.

  • i'm allergic to nuts and i have one of these things. i've also used it on a lemon (but never on myself, luckily), and the next day the lemon was green, but not with mould. looked like a lime with some yellow patches. creepy.

  • That is a thick needle!

  • I ended up having to use my EpiPen once.

It's really not that bad, considering your options are injection or death.

  • one word...oww! i guess if you had to use it then you would not even think about the needle size, but just looking at it is creepy.

  • Fuck.. I'll just fucking die on the camp if I get stung by those moron bees.

  • What are you allergic to that you have an Epi Pen for?

  • Bees. Its sucks.

  • You know what sucks that i stabbed myself in the finger with that tonight! Not very enjoyable.

  • any type of allergie with an unknown cause

  • @KeikoTeddy Carotene. If I eat any food containing a lot of it (namely, most veggies, milk, corn....) I pass away before I can say sh.....t. If I eat anything with a little of it I can have anything between shingle and anaphylaxis. I cana't even be around raw carrots without getting an asthma attack, and if a bee stings me after having been on a yellow flower, I can die as well. To me, if someone invites me to eat out, it's a clear sign s/he wants me dead. LOL

  • Trust me dude, when you're blacking out from lack of oxygen, you won't even feel the damned thing.

  • Yeah I could see that :P lol. But its still scary to think about.

  • LOL...I was training a student on administering Epi. Thought it was the fake one and actually was injected into my thumb. Shyt HURT!

  • Ooo, that had to have hit bone mate. I'm wincing just thinking about it.

  • did you get a mad crazy rush?

  • Duuude did it go through your thumb?

  • either a 1.4 inch needle or DEATH O_O

  • Yeah I guess your right ba ha!

  • "into your leg"

    *faints*

  • yeah really hey lol

  • lol (^_^)

  • im allgeric to bee sting and i have to use this and i dont want to it ognna hurt really bad

  • Yeah Me too. I'm also allergic to bee stings, My Epi Pen expired so I thought I would have some fun with it :P lol.... Merry Christmas.
