If I use the Merlin and the HF100 without any videoconverter. I only use a starter and an end weight at the bottom and an end weight in the front.
I place the HF100 in the middle whole of the first row on the ground plate and than balance it. I think it is than around -1. The bow it ca. half of the maximum arc.
The Merlin is looking good. It can handle the 30mm adapter which i thought would be heavy at the front side of the merlin. I think you did some focusing in the beginning and the merlin shaked. IS that correct. Thanks for putting it online.
Yes, I did some focusing. In front of the house with the dog.
It was no problem to balance it on the Merlin. The cam incl. the 35mm adapter weight ca. 1,5 kg . I used 1mid weight and 1 finish weight in the front and 2 mid weights and the start and finish weight. Worked ok.
I am now more than ever interested in buying a Merlin with an adapter. That seems to be my next step into film making. I know it takes time to practise the Merlin. I suppose it is like baking a cake or learning to swimm in clothes. Thanks!

guess it takes time to practise both. Merlin and the adapter. Bad thing is, that you cannot change the focus easily, if it is mounted on the merlin.
