  • 6:13 WTF?!

How can a center steal like that?

  • hakeem and horry 95 nba jam unstopable

  • lmao 2:11 has to be the most viscous dunk of all time

  • NO CENTER IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA WILL EVER COMPARE TO HAKEEM OLAJUWON.

  • in m opinion most versatile player in nba history could block shots score steal rebound he does it all

  • @wolftmfg The Twin Towers lol

  • 1-21-2012. Ain't it fine, ain't it fine? Hakeem is 49. Happy Birthday, Hakeem. You finally caught me (at 49, that is).

  • I really wish Karl Malone and the Jazz never beat the Rockets in the playoffs so I could have seen Jordan's Bulls vs Hakeem's Rockets. Would have been epic

  • my brother is a good man and one hell of a center imo the dream is the best center ever

  • slammajamma

  • lmao triple teaming him dont work lmao

  • I've lived in Houston all my life and I am a die hard Rockets fan.. But I would be lying if I told you I never pictured what it would be like if we took Michael Jordan instead of Hakeem back in 1984.

  • im bout to watch the vid of kj dunking on him

  • 8:18 only way to stop him. Or what a "sir" thought...

  • Best 10mins. Awesome music. Awesome video. HAAAKEEEEEEM!!! OLAJUWAN!!

  • Back when the Rockets had elite players. *sigh*

  • I think he should be called Mr. Get That Shit Out Of Here!

  • Great footwork over athletisism

  • omg at 5:41 that was the best play of bball ive ever seen

  • @freezeofkb yo it really look like they were just playing around with the D at 5:41

  • If I had access to a time machine I would go back in time and force Hakeem to sleep with my mom and become my father.

  • AMAZING good job man

  • he could shoot ,block, steal, post, go right, go left, post left, post right, hes fast, hes quick wowwwwwwwwww best center in my opinion

  • many moves belongs to guards

  • i dont even see his blocks coming

  • wither akeem got attention or noti will 4eva respect a player a role model a hero called akeem olajuwon

  • i always wonder why there were all stick-men playing in the NBA back then ?

  • Lololololol, 5:10, some noob tries the dream shake then BAM, the creator swats that sh*t like nobodies business. <3

  • @HardstyleRepublicAMG

he wasnt the creator of Dream Shake, newfag...

  • all 24 dislikes are from David Robinson

  • Your video is a favorite on Fiji

  • 5:52 STYLED ON

  • thumbs up if you here because of blake griffin

  • @StanKyBreaThCA ???? im here because of hakeem olajuwon

  • Love his footwork. It's rare to see a Center with that kind of footwork and versatility.

  • Awesome athelete...

    Guess he is an idol...

    Btw Jayz Songs

A Dream ft Faith Evans BiG

Never Let Me Down ft Kanye

  • 2:45 the Dream blocks the Magic

  • Jay Z bothe songs

  • really this video should have over 2 million views at least it is just outrageous

  • @miamigreyhound You're absolutely right. Hakeem was supremely talented, athletic, intelligent, graceful, you name it. He just didn't get the attention he deserved probably because he isn't American. Meanwhile David Robinson, whose career stats match up well with Olajuwan, got all the attention in the U.S. and internationally. But anyone who watches this video and is a true fan of the game will fully appreciate him and his rightful place as one of the top five centers of all time!

  • Bill Russell & Hakeem Olajuwon nobody one else close

  • he would have gotten 1 ring even if Jordan was around. IMO

  • @miamigreyhound

    Good argument

  • suoer cool video. Love the music. Hakeem the greatest center in modern NBA history. A tremendous athlete his game was super versatile. Dunks, steal, assists, jumpers spins blocks, blocks, block,s blocks!!

  • 5:39 !

  • 0:47 Hakeem stuffs young MJ in college

  • 4:30 name song?

  • I remember the first time I tried the dream shake on someone. I don't even think I did it right & made them look stupid as fuck. Hakeem is one of the best players to ever play basketball. His talent, not to mention how elusive he was for being a big man, is something we haven't seen today. We may never see someone as big as him be as versatile as he was.

  • hakeem was a great player until he took a basketball to the knee

  • best center ever

  • what the name of the second song ?

  • @LebronRedemption never let me down kanye west

  • he played like a power forward

  • If Hakeem played in today's NBA that is so historicaly bad on center position, he would average over 30 ppg and win MVP and DPOY every single year.. It would be high comedy to watch him murder the weak competition on center. When you realize that guy like Chandler is considered shot block specialist and he averaged 1.1 blocks per game last season and Hakeem in his prime 4.6 than it's just laughable..

  • @HymanKaplan That's why Shaq said in an recent interview, that Dwight Howard is the best center right now because he has no competition in that position. While in Shaq's generation he had to face Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, David Robinson and many others.

  • Hakeem Olajuwon was the most versatile center of all time

  • @uhjinlee you are 100m% right......there is and will be none better...tw

  • @uhjinlee Almost.

    Arvydas Sabonis

  • rare combination for a big man, power, skill, footwork, touch and basketball smarts.

  • could he have won 2 rings if MJ did not retire during those seasons?

  • @MrPinaka

Young Shaq beat Jordan Bulls when he came back, just to get obliberated in finals by The Dream.

    Yes, he would have.

  • @MrPinaka Stats say yes. The Rockets of the first threepeat spanked the Bulls. They Rockets bested them 5-1 from '91 to '93.

  • You can see that he didn't grow up playing basketball. His moves are handball and Footbal (the REAL kind) inspired

  • get that shit outta here

  • Kevin Johnson got back at hakeem by dunking on him lol

  • I can't believe those Euro idiots think Sabonis was better... What a ***king joke!..

  • I LOVE DIS GUY,WATCHING HIM ALONE MAKES ME IMPROVE DAILY N ALSO WANT 2 PLAY BASKETBALL EVERY MINUTE.....

  • Best center ever,I pray 2 b better than dis man someday yeah 2 b d next Nigerian 2 win d hall of fame....#GODPLEASEHELPME

  • so i had to do a report in class about who our favorite nba player and favorite hall of famer, so we had to explain why we like them.

Favorite player: tracy mcgrady. why? he did one of the best nba comebacks in nba history.

Favorite Hall Of Famer: Hakeem Olajuwon. why? one word.. Dream Shake

the week later i got an A for that

  • GREATEST CENTER PERIOD. LEGENDARY.......

  • @reverend07 Not many people would agree with you. Top 5, ya, but not the greatest...

  • oh i was lookin for a white guy

  • <3 The Dream Shake

  • #poetryinmotion

  • how does this have only a half million views

  • u forgot the dream shake against david robinson, that was awesome

  • second song????????

  • 4:28 balloons!

  • it was an absolute joy to watch this guy at his peak...he had amazing skill..he had a great touch...unbelievable anticipation and defensive ability...amazing quickness too.

  • 21 people are dreaming.

  • @paksta I was just thinking the same thing. How the hell does this video have 2 dislikes? Knicks and Spurs fans probably

  • those are sum NASTY blocks

  • Hakeem > Dwight

  • people who don't respect Hakeem didn't watch him play, and don't know his resume.

  • Best defensive player of all time

Best center of all time (Wilt comes close)

Best Houston Rocket of all time

  • Best Center of All Time, not best of,just The Best.

  • My top 5

    Oscar Robertson

    Michael Jordan

    Larry Bird

    Karl Malone

    Hakeem Olajuwon

  • dis nigga a fuken beast in 2k12

  • My Dream 5: C 34 Hakeem Olajuwon PF 21 Tim Duncan SF 33 Larry Bird SG 23 Michael Jordan PG 32 Earvin "Magic" Johnson

  • who is the name of thefirst song?????????????

  • @theonebaby1 A Dream - Jay-Z Feat Notorious BIG

  • 8:45

  • 8:46 the best spin move i've ever seen.

  • the 21 dislikes came from everyone that got dunked on or blocked in this vid

  • Some European idiot was trying to convince me Sabonis was better, saying all Olajuwon could do was block shots... LMAO..

  • Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon, his nickname should be "The Nightmare" because Ewing & D-Rob to this day wake up in the middle of the night with cold sweats thinking about playing against him.

  • @kileer7 and o neal, and mutombo, and mourning

  • 8:14 LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 21 people think hes a nightmare.

  • for me he was best center ever... imagine if he would have been playing in chamberlain years? he cound have 20+ blocks and i think 100 pts too :) i love his post arsenal, his defence , everything in hakeem was dream :)

  • michael jordan maybe good but can he win a championship without another hall of fame teamate?

i think the 1994 rockets was the only championship team with only one HOF except the 2004 pistons but the only championship with only two all-stars

  • Him being retired is the only reason some of these young bucks score so much.

  • In this video, he swats MJ (while in college), strips Magic and dunks on AND blocks Kareem multiple times. Pretty good guys he's dominating. Oh and he won back-to-back NBA championships AND is one of four guys, with only another being recent (David Robinson), to record a Quadruple-double. BEST.CENTER.EVER.

  • @molinarip44 ....shaq is the best center ever

  • Houston Rockets bring back the 80's Uniforms.....90's and present are ugly as hell!!!!!!!!!

  • hakeem = michael jordan in a bigman's body

  • dancing man at 7.56. Best part is 8.18 (Y)

  • If i was starting a NBA team i might take this guy #1 overall before Jordan.

    A real tough choice ..

  • @brandonvass1002 ....that did happen; 1984 Draft. Olajuwon #1, Jordan #3.

  • The dream the best center in history

Houston Rockets best team fuck what any other people think Clutch City all the way

  • The best thing I like about him (aside from his Dream Shake) is his defense. When he goes for a block, he doesn't just swat them away in order to swat them away. He actually tries to send it towards a team mate of his so they can gain possession. Other players swats the ball towards out of bounds or to the stands so they can feel macho about it.

Hakeem is a very smart basketball player.

  • Shaq in a recent interview:

"Hakeem Olajuwon was the only center I couldn't defeat, all the other ones I demolished."

  • @nycsultan1 ...shaq did defeat olajuwon...he has a winning record vs hakeem in the reg.season, and they are 1-1 in playoff series..too bad people think he outplayed shaq in the 95 finals...he didnt

    shaq= 28.0 ppg 12.5 rpg 6.3 apg 2.5 bpg on .595%

    hakeem= 32.8 ppg 11.5 rpg 5.5 apg 2.bpg on .483%

hakeems took 10.5 more shots per game than shaq, and hakeems teammates were more efficient than he was

    shaq= 112 pts,74 fgas...1.51 points per shot

    hakeem= 131 pts,116 fgas..1.13 points per shot

  • @shaqpopcorn34 You forgot the most important stat... 4-0.. lol..

  • @shaqpopcorn34 hop off shaq's dick. do you want a link to the interview where he said he couldn't ever beat hakeem?

  • @shaqpopcorn34 shaq lost to him in the finals, the most important series of all and you can ask shaq himself if Hakeem defeated himand he'll say yes

  • Shaqpop34: "1.51 points per shot 131 pts,116 fgas..1.13 points per shot"

Yeah but Hakeem's points per SWEEP was far superior than Shaq's was. 4-0,LOL.

  • @FuShengAlex ...hakeem= no relevance beyond mentioning him in the same breath as mike, shaq,or using the year 1995

hakeem= all-nba 3rd team in 99..yet fewer pts, rbs, and assists than both barkley and pippen to become the liability in shaqs ownage of him in 99 playoffs

mike= rings with pippen in 96,97,98

hakeem= 1st round exit with pippen in 99 vs shaq, despite barkleys epic series of putting up prime barkley numbers

mike "had pippen" right?....hakeem= couldnt win a round with pippen..LMAO

  • shaqs "ownage" of Hakeem in '99 = the opportunity to be TD's bitch, lol. Not much of an award there. Hakeem's ownage of Shaq in '95 = NBA Title and MVP.

If Shaq cried when being swept by Hakeem, do you think MJ who lost to Shaq the same year woulda cried? Hmmm maybe we should ask Isiah that answer....LOLOL.

  • @shaqpopcorn34 He scored more points than Shaq in each of the 4 games. Just like he did with Robinson and Ewing. The fact we consider him the best center is not because of his numbers, but because of his overall skills. Shaq ranks in the top 20 of the best players ever because he dominated the league. But he dominated mostly because of his power and strength, than because of his skills. And Olajuwon did the very exact same thing against Kareem, Ewing, Robinson, Shaq and Karl Malone.

  • @nycsultan1 Hey could you send me the link to the interview, sounds interesting.

  • @nycsultan1 uhh what interview?

  • @robbinsillinois uhh you could just google it

  • @nycsultan1 I wanted to like this comment but it has 34 likes.

  • 3:27

    lol

  • He is one of the best centers I've ever seen, if not the best. He has offense and defence.

  • Damn I hated how he'd always play really good against my favourite player David Robinson :-( but I have to admit he was an awesome player

  • 5:40 wow

  • my favorites dream team....

    1-HAKEEM OLAJUWON

    2-SHAWN KEMP

    3-JULİUS ERVİNG

    4-CLYDE DREXLER

    5-ALLEN İVERSON...

  • i noticed a lot of his highlights were against Patrick Ewing

  • Sigh, why are there no more centers like him in the NBA now? It's a shame :/

  • @zeroman0923 there is andrea bargnani.... I think he could be the next Wilt

  • "It's not just his scoring, not just his rebounding or not just his blocked shots. People don't realize he was in the top seven in steals. He always made great decisions on the court" - Michael Jordan

  • Anybody with time could make a year long highlight film about the Dream, that's how good he was.

  • most player highlights are 3-4 minutes, hakeems is over 10 minutes

  • its not russell's fault that he played in the 60's era. i firmly beliv that he can excel in whatever era he will play. he has a heart of a champion, the incomparable desire to win, greatest defensive instinct. simply put he is a ben wallace with the iq of magic, the tenacity of larry bird and the desire of mj.

  • bill russell played against a bunch of lame white people that's why he won 11 championships.

  • @lastscorpion0922

    truedat

  • dream is the best center ever he had all the tools to be a great center. he killed it on both ends of the court. i love his game.

  • 21 people dont have dreams...

  • with those dream shake moves , Hakeem hided a lot of traveling 6:53

  • @JerryMyersTV

It's not a travel. "Lifting the pivot foot alone does not constitute a travel; a player may pass, shoot, or request a timeout in that position. It is a travel once the foot is returned to the floor, or if a dribble is started."

  • GREATEST CENTER EVER!

  • wow, as big a fan of Olajuwon as i am, watching this with my 5 year old was like man. This dude was amazing

  • 20 people never had a Dream.

  • i agree one of the best all time players ever its was priviledge to see him play!!!!!!!

  • if michael jordan became 7 ft tall..he would be like Akeem..

  • 6:19

  • thank u for this video

  • Best player in the 90's not named "Michael Jordan"

  • @tastycajun0381 He was that good! To me he was the best basketball player I every seen.

  • Pause at 2:10 This will not end well

  • hakeem might not have been the greatest center ever, but he was almost certainly the smoothest.

  • That's like the biggest Nigerian I've seen!

  • Why did he have teach Kobe?!

  • thumbs up if you pressed mute

  • @TributeToTesla It's offensive to have such a class act framed by such phony shock-for-money crap.

  • seconde song plz :p

  • during the 80's, the league were more enamored to bigs rather than guards with the exceptions of magic of course. i beliv if the bulls will have the first pick, im sure they are going to pick the dream ahead of mj as well. dream was just too good then. dream's number during his roy season is comparable to tim duncan's and we all know how much better dream is, was and ever will be. mj is goat, but the dream is nasty. he is the mj of centers. greatest c of all time.

  • olajuwon 1st pick sam bowie 2nd pick michael jordan 3rd. who would ever think olajuwon might not be the best pick. what a draft excluding of course sam bowie

  • @timezoneeable If I were a GM choosing now, even knowing how it all played out, I would probably pick Olajuwon. Any four other players, and you're going to the playoffs. Micheal himself only had one Jodanesque game agianst the Rockets, that I can recall. He struggled when Hakeem was in the middle. It's not a no brainer. Fun to comtemplate, though...best draft ever. 15 Greats.

  • Is that michael jordan at :48?

  • 5:39 lol they were shittin on them like they were the globetrotters

  • i bet more than 100 of these views are mine..

  • 5:50 OMG BEST PLAY EVER

  • great video... not a fan of the music tho

  • Comment removed

  • The MJ of centers. The one second explosion would startle you.

  • @PremiseTester dude i always say exactly the same thing. when i look at hakeem i think of mj. they are similar in that they are both perfect players who master every bball skill . ultimate weapons on the court.
