Oh, I forgot about Shushunova's tumbling run on floor. Gymnasts today could do that with their eyes closed while making a call on their cell phones. Except that one part that was so damn difficult to pull off without killing yourself that they banned it and Shush made it look easy. What has happened to gymnastics???

GymFloozie: with all due respect that´s some sort of exaggeration there...while i am not a gymnastics expert, i follow the world championships and olympics and you are exaggerating when you say present-day gymnasts "can do that with their eyes closed", referring to the routines performed by gymnasts of the 80s.

@vonkaunaz My comment was so long ago, I don't remember my intent. I might have been being sarcastic, because I believed then as I believe now there isn't a gymnast competing today who is fit to tie Elena's shoes. Shush was one of the best ever. I wish it was the 80s again.

Thanks for posting this and your other videos of past gymnasts. The Russians were at one time the superpowers of gymnastics and unbeatable at one time.I personally feel (and want ) the American gymnasts will win big at Bejiing this summer, and Shawn Johnson will be all around champion in my opinion if she does not make any big mistakes. Thanks for your videos from a HUGE gymnastics fan !
