I'm very glad to hear the US Secretary of State mention the importance of sustainability of environment. Having lived in the UK and Spain for sometime I was very impressed by the general attitude towards conserving the environment. Everyone seems to be very conscientious about recycling and the govt provides education and adequate resources for encouraging such behaviour. The micro creates the macro and I hope sustainability becomes a global byword soon.

Now, I believe some Americans would agree to reducing energy and get themselves involve on how we can support energy resources. When did "sustainability" become the new environmentalist buzzword? Can someone tell me exactly when? Cuz I never heard any environmentalist or environuts mention it before I got to college. And now I can't stop hearing about it. There's a club called "Sustain Mizzou" and stories in the student newspaper all the time about sustainability.

Do these idiots even know what the word "sustain" means?? I'm pretty sure there's a better environmentalist term than that.
