The mom here is taking the easy way out. Those kids need to be involved in sports or something to stimulate them and get them outside. Of course, this would mean that she would have to stop cleaning and take them to the activities. 30 years from now, it is not going to matter that her house was clean. It will matter when her kids are poorly adjusted adults, slovenly and lazy.

I think there should be some balance. I don't think it's correct for the parent to make the child do all the chores I think the parents should also be responsible for their home. Also it depends on the age of the child and what the child can handle. This kid's going to wind up morbidly obese, just watch. My mom would have none of that when I was a kid. If there were chores to be done, we HAD to do them. If it was nice out, my sister and I were chased outside to play. If we watched too much TV, she'd turn it off. If we still tried to watch, she'd unplug it. These parents don't do a damn thing. It's more their fault than the kids'.
