It's a shame that the musicians, who are partly responsible for a lot of those hit records, regardless of genre, don't get as much shine as the artists do, especially session musicians. Without the musicians, the artists would not be complete. Cats, like Bob Babbitt, James Jamerson, and others, paid their dues to do what they love, and that's to perform to the best of their abilities.
Just seen Standing in the shadows of Motown here (on 2010 Xmas morning) on the tv in South Africa........and I sure tuned into Bob Babbit and his team. I'm 58, grew up in London and have 'most' of those old Motown tunes, and Stax and Atlantic and Chess all on 7" vinyls. What a time xxx and what a show yesterday. Loved it. Thanks.
