Its more similar to MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) style games, League of Legends, Heroes of Newerth, Realm of the Titans, Rise of the Immoratls, DotA, etc. DotA (Defense of the Ancients) being the pioneer of this genre. The defining distinction is that LOCO is a behind 3rd person view instead of an overhead view similar to the Warcraft series.. (before WoW) This MOBA style was created in Warcraft 3 using the scenario editor, which is where DotA spawned
