Written by Port Orchard's Ron Davies (It Ain't Easy, Long Hard Climb), I believe, unfortunately, that he died last year before the Wailers got around to sending him a check for the song. Nice job Dan...I remember your vocal on "I Believe in Miricles" in the late seventies which was awesome!
My husband was "noodling" this song on his guitar and I slowly began to recognize it. I was in sixth grade when this song came out and I LOVED it way back then. My hubby is adding it to his set of original and cover tunes.
I bought this 45 in 1965 Untied Artists -- another great song lost and burried by endless Beatles pap -- it was played in the SF area only on KLIV San Jose ( then pop 32,000 )
This could just as easily have been billed as "The Daily Flash" since it includes Steve Lalor and Don from the present edition of that Seattle stalwart -- but of course this is really more of an "all star" jam ensemble.
"Tall Cool One" was played that day, but since Dan Bonow wasn't part of it, I didn't post it. Is that the same "Roadrunner" made famous by Jr. Walker and the All-Stars"?
I do remember this when it came out on KHOK AM in Aberdeen! I heard it also on KJR in Seattle and KJRB in Spokane....great song!! But what about "Out Of Our Tree" ??
That song ROCKED!! Hey, how about "Roadrunner" and "Tall Cool One" also!!
ahh- a terrific Northwest garage band of the mid-60s, they did Dirty Robber apparently much earlier - in which they sure did wail! thanks for the video!
WunderBar! Good to see & hear! Love it that you on YouTube JetZt! Funky Freaak. When I get to see U on the Beach again? Sending you our Love from the Coconut Islands. Love & Light Astrid
It's a different Roadrunner -- it's the flip side of the 1959 release
