The movie that made me think twice about glaring over old flicks. It's the one that made me a fan for life! Harry Warren wrote so much great music- Shadow Waltz, Young and Healthy, The Gold Diggers Song ( We're in the Money), Forty Second Street, You're Getting To Be A Habit With Me, You're My Everything, I found A Million Dollar Baby,Jeepers Creepers, Cheerful Little Earful, Would You Like To Take A Walk, Nagasaki,You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby, I'll String Along With You
I love watching Dick Powell and Ruby Keeler together. His voice is so beautiful and she is just such a cutie pie. This is one of my favorite films with the two of them together.
i first heard this in a production of 42nd street, it was only yesterday when i watched gold diggers of 1933 when i realised that they'd "borrowed" it, its been years since ive heard the lyrics, gee what i'd give for someone to sing it to me, dick powell's one of my fave singers and this song reminds me why
they played this in a movie theater in jersey and i went with my dad it was a memorable night <3 i wish they'd bring the old movies back once in a while
It used to be on YOUTUBE months ago. A bunch of the clips are gone. I saw this stuff in 1971 at the Smithsonian museum. I want it back...Busby Berkley had some great stuff. Jackie Gleason used it on his variety show with the June Taylor dancers.
One person has merda for ears..im 47 and i love both of them . they are wonderful and will always remind me of my mom when i hear shadow waltz

Is it possible Dick Powell is tremendously under-rated? I think so, he's fantastic in my view.

@goodfoo He is fantastic. Handsome, great tenor--almost operetta, good actor, and that sense of sassy fun--the knowingness that was his trademark.

hola Omar. Excellent job, one question:in the movie is there a longest version of this song?
If yes, do you have it? Many thanks and keep like that
youbrinner 2 years ago
no, but I think there is a sequence of dance in this song, if it the upload
omarov 2 years ago
Yes there is, where its a staged production number. But it probably was deleted by Warners because it isn't on here anymore.
