  • "The Blind can take a walk?" what the fuck, man?

  • I think Gene is such a great drummer, Qotsa finds great drummers to play with them Joey, and of course Dave

  • @Drzmvp21 and as not to forget alfredo hernandez?, drummers good

  • album version sucks, the whole album sucks, long live to Gene Trautman

  • Happy New Year 2011! on a deaf specific dating site Deafornot dot c om, it requires members to disclose their condition upfront

  • Is that Troy playing the slide guitar?

  • They N E E D Nick BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • troy is the best slide guitarists the queens ever had and probably will remain the best

  • got cocaine runnin around their brains...yeeeeehaaaw

  • Thanks for posting this. It feels, to me, this came out of the same desert sessions the featured EoDM and Green Monarchs. (3&4) and for whatever reason, got put in a vault for later reworking. Very interesting indeed. Thanks again ;o)

  • Mark always has this confused, 'where the fuck am i' look on his face. If that's what he needs to kick ass, then so be it.

  • i miss the bizarre festival :(

  • lol that hair

  • one of the best qotsa song

  • Deafornot dot c om is an online community for deaf, ASL and hearing-impaired friends and singles!

Have fun with photos, message boards, chat, blog and more.

  • shit please joshua to sign the entire song... the other guy i dont fuckin care who is but homme is 1000 times better

  • At first I thought this was lame, but after listening a couple of times it's really good, I think it can compete with the version on sftd.

  • cattiva quanto basta!!!

  • I think this was the best formation to....i saw them in 2002 when joey and troy were there already,it was fucking fantastic but i think in 2001 they were more "pure" rockers

  • this early version

  • OH MY GOD IT'S WILL FERRELL!

  • dont think im a fan of this version, its still really cool.. and my god dont you just love that fuckin creepy bass line at the start.

  • i miss this lineup, this (apart from grohl) was best FULL TIME lineup qotsa has had

  • yeah perhaps except I hate that lap-steel guy. troy is way better....

  • They need to play this live more. I guess without Lanegan it just wouldn't be the same live. Interesting version here though.

  • Actually, if you look it up, this song was designed in a way so that deaf people can hear it.

I think its through some method of vibration or something, i cant remember.

Look it up on google or something.

  • Are you maybe thinking of the 'real song for the deaf' that starts at around -1:34? on the songs for the deaf album?

  • @Deebee1337

No it wasn't this song, the album Songs for the Deaf has a secret song which you can get to by skipping some song at some point or something like that. The track you would then hear is called "The Real Song for the deaf" which when listened through the right speakers could be felt in the ear, thus making it a song deaf people could "listen"

  • ummmm...yeah...I agree, it's an awesome song.

  • Germal: I think "deaf" is being used largely in a metaphorical sense.

  • Both versions kick ass.

  • who's the drummer?

  • Gene Trautman. Played on Rated R and subsequent tours. Also drums for Eagles of Death Metal when they're touring.

  • just curious, why does the crowd, in the other festival videos, not really seem to give a shit?

  • ..............thats just beautiful!! Mark Lanegan, josh homme and nick o brilliant!!

  • Mark Lanegan

  • haha sorry i was being sarcastic based on the other comments i <3 mark

  • its mark lanegan and he is fcking awesome... if you knew the actual (recorded) song, he sings on it (as well as many other qotsa stuff)

so thats the "quack"...... u ass

  • lol just read the other comment u posted about being sarcastic ... soz didnt realise : )

  • jogga16 - but you were 'bashing - happy' at that time

  • how do you dare being sarcastic with one of the people that are on stage with QOTSA??? jeez dude. R.e.s.p.e.c.t.

  • Dude thats Mark Lanegan from the Screaming Trees hes a fukin great singer

  • @chevrier233 one of the best vocalists of the grunge era

  • yeah i know what you mean this iant bad but its not as sharp as the album version in my opinion i think joshes voice suits it better .

  • ew

album version is better, in my opinion. which i'm entitled to. let's not start youtube comment wars thanks.

  • No worries, I prefer the final version myself. This is up for interests sake, shows how the song evolved. That, the playing is kick ass, and this is one of the great QOTSA lineups, in my opinion.

  • @OFIDH

QOTSA 2000-2002 saw arguably the greatest band lineups ever...second only to Them Crooked Vultures

  • @OFIDH Its good to see how the song evolved from the writing process untill recording...

  • fuucckk

  • shite

  • hey do you have no one knows

  • sweet version but I cant help hearing the album lyrics

  • Lovin it

  • Just thinking: this must be a demo-version because in 2001 they hadn't recorded "Songs for the Deaf" yet?!?

  • ²

    Never heard it before!

  • Interesting, I like this version.
