  • The first American movie I ever saw where there was tenderness between two men. You know, in the West, we don't cotton to that kind of thing. And then there was Midnight Cowboy. Beautiful in it's humanity. One of my favorites of all time.

  • great movie.....!!!!!!!

  • They just don't sing like that anymore

They just don't make movies like this anymore.

  • @fxstwg1955 they do you just have to get out of American culture, Europe has some good stuff

  • @itlivesin what a load. There is plenty of non commercial bands here in America. This is not an America Europe thing. Just a non Mainstream thing. I have been to Europe there is not much differnce if anything the pop music is more popular in Europe than it is here.

  • @seanmahon101 yes! your best being Agalloch for Oregon, but as for pop maybe? but metal/ non comercial has the same kind of following. When does America have black metal bands on breakfast shows? Not trying to fight just want to understand

  • @fxstwg1955

    Absolutely right, unfortunately...

  • J'aime beaucoup cette chanson.

  • classic movie

  • And this man gave life to Angelina!! Kiss his feet!! Your talent was pasted down by your father and further to your children!!!!

  • And this man gave birth to Angelina!! Kiss his feet!! Your talent was inhereirted!!

  • @salsaaneja

    He did.

  • ive loved this film forever ,its the first time ive seen his daughter in him , i hope one day she does a film like this

  • James Leo Herlilhy wrote the novel that the film was based on, he is of Irish and German decent. Just to clear matters up. Good song here!

  • @dmcc20012 so actually a German wrote the book ???

  • @zghvbn1 They are driving on the wrong side of the road? What's up with that? We drive on the left!

  • where's that joe buck!

  • take me back pleeeeeese! x

  • You Me And The Open Road

  • Fred Neil was one of the best blues writers and singers ever. Too bad most people think that Harry Nilsson wrote this song.

  • we all need that F...ck you moment in our lives. the fact that it all ends bad does not matter. If you do not have that moment you will dies regretting it. And if you don't regret it then you will never know the intense feeling of the moment.

  • Im glad everybody keeps tuning into this presentation I would like to know how you got here let me know OK THANK YOU

  • @spudone1000 This film is based on a book written by an Irishman. Ah god bless Ireland.

  • @dmcc20012 an irishman born in Detroit ? I didn't know the Irish kingdom spread so wide`?

  • I just love how the only one at the restaurant who will listen to him is old Ralph. I love this movie.

  • The look in his eyes and on his face feeling the pain of being ignored and acknowledged is painful for me to watch...

  • Was then, is now and always will be one of the BEST songs ever done. How can anybody not like this?

  • Jon.... oh what a handsome man.... thumbs up forever for him!

  • grande filme, musica boa...

  • I'm 14 and love this song :)

  • The song is just called "Everybody's Talking" and it was written and originally performed by Fred Neil, the NYC folksinger who gave Bob Dylan his start, but by the end of the '60s retired to work with dolphins in Florida.

  • One of the best films ever made. I'm a sucker for loveable losers and unlikely friendships.Nilsson rocks.

  • This is one of my all time favorite films. I love this scene, it reminds me of when I was leaving Texas and taking a Grey hound bus out to the west coast. I was bubbling with excitement to finally to be leaving Texas even though I didn't know a soul in California or what to expect when I got there.

  • @waynegreer72 What ended up happening?

  • @waynegreer72 I'll bet you were disappointed

  • @GiovannaNYC Actually it turned out great for me. I like living here so much better than Texas

  • @GiovannaNYC no I was not disappointed. It was like pulling a cork out my ass after so many years of being uptight and for the first time I could breath. I was allowed to be myself and no one cared. And I am still here and loving it.

  • i heard this song on futurama and the guy is dressed like that to

  • I love this film, and I love this opening scene.... but I always thought that this scene was a little like a really bad low budget exploitation movie... only slightly though.... please don't hate me....

  • At least he tried....he did that.....:)

  • His daughter looks just like him, especially when he smiles.

  • Angelina = Dad in looks, know they have had their problems but he surely contributed to her beauty along with her stunning mother, no wonder she looks like that :-))

  • Now, they would make a movie called "Daytime Yankee", about a New Yorker escaping his town to be cowboy in the great state of Texas!

  • love this song...and movie for that matter

  • Looks like his daughter(Angelina)on this.

  • I love this film. The anti-heroes are magnificous in 1970.

That's great! New York is New York, but...

I love this song's Herry Nilson and Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman.

The modernismo and anti-heroes. The big city and the indiference of the people.

  • What is the history of this 8 min youtube video? Is it a trailer to the movie, or is it something that the poster edited and put together themselves???

  • 1:00 is such a badass line

  • @SixDayWar67 Yeah, I have watched film and I agree – a classic. What I meant was what happened after the film ended. BUt thank you anyway :)

  • Besides being a great movie including the soundtrack it's also a historical record of what America looked and felt like in the late 1960's especially New York City before when it went through its grime period prior to cleanning up in the mid-1990's.

  • Great song and great job of mixing the music in and out through the video. Fits just perfectly.

  • Pure Genius. When life gives me lemons, I watch this. :-)

  • Such a wonderful film. I keep coming back for the music but it's perfect in every way. Joe Buck's slide is tragic in the true Greek sense. I desperately want to know what happened next but am satisfied that I don't know.

  • @shout102 I would recommend watching the entire film...................a classic !

  • @chownful I think a lot of it the fact that she is so polite and unassuming I live in a small town about 10.000 population and I realize times have changed but everybody nowdays is more like the bus driver . that smile of hers I guess really goes with her eyes.she kinda reminds me of Donna Reed simply elegant..And to me there is a purity to her..You dont see that today..

  • The best film ever made and Best music ever - Harry Nilson and John Barry - wohhhhhh

  • excuse me mister excuse me perfect line from a perfect lady can you compare her her to anybody else in todays world??? please reply i would like to hear anybodies response thanks....

  • @spudone1000 What makes her remind of you such innocence? Is it the way she is dressed, or something else? I dont think she is the most beautiful lady, but that's my opinion. There are much better looking ladies that are in this film :P

  • roy west

  • I listen to this and i tune out I love the old cars and thnk the mother on the bus is more beautiful than todays so called it girls to me there is no comparison she is tops... her eyes remind me of brandi carlisle am I right??? pure innocence that is my opinion

  • i love the cow suitcase.needs wheels.it's nice to see angelina's dad.

  • Hah the first time I heard this song, I thought of my road trip out west, matches perfectly. Great song and intro also.

  • One of me & and ma dads fave films,

  • Harry Nilsson will alway be missed wonderful artist and dont forget The Puppy Song..

  • Sorry meant Dustin!!!!!!

  • Best Film Ever especially Jon and his naive performance but not to forget Justin too, Class!!!!

  • cant resist singing 'git along lil doggies' in the shower from time to time

  • Best opening to a movie apart from Jackie Brown and the Graduate

  • Farewell Harry!

  • Remington shotgun for only $72.47! Bargain!

  • ooopsss he dropped the soap lol xoxo

  • were is that joe buck? hahaha. brilliant

  • This is so cool. This whole opening scene was done in my hometown of Big Spring Texas. LOL. I haven't lived there in many years, but this sure brought back some memories. When I was just a kid, my dad and I would go have coffee at that little cafe. It was really a great little town back then. I even remember when they filmed this. It was the biggest thing that happend to Big Spring.

  • Very good movie and good song too from Izmir / Turkey peace

  • Dustin Hoffman Greatest Actor ever!!!!!!!!

  • Where is that JOE BUCK!!!!!

  • @appleseedmachina reminds me in some way the movie Kill Bill .. "My name is Buck ..." ;-)

  • Very deep, symbolic movie. When I first watched it 20 years ago I was 20, it hit a cord with me.

  • i love his luggage!

    Thank you.

  • In America, rough country sides are more attractive than big cities for me.

  • I played this song at my Dad's funeral in April, because he loved it so much. There were over 60 people there and they all cried.

  • BEAUTIFUL song, Harry Nilsson's voice and that banjo were born to be together. And I agree with Mr55go, best opening sequence, too bad it's all doom and gloom from that point on.

  • I saw this in 1970 - I left the theater that night, and immediatly got back in line to see it again. It changed my life.

I bought the DVD, and watched it for a third time, but it is so heartbreaking and sad I'll never watch it again.

  • That small piece of cinematographic genius that catches him from lighting the fag to spinning to the mirror... Gets me every time. Perfection.

  • what a film. The emotional content hits every time.

  • Probably the best opening scene in movie history.

  • @Mr55go You're so right!

  • @Mr55go Without a doubt...

  • @Mr55go well, I've read st like this already many times... But this is for sure a great movie and a great play! thx for sharin'!

  • @Mr55go I don't know. The opening scene from the original Godfather movie might have this one beat out. It's a close call either way it goes.

  • @Mr55go Right up there with the opening of Apocalypse Now.

  • @Mr55go And one of the best soundtracks in movie history.

  • @Mr55go I think I'd agree with that..but afterall, it's the best movie ever made

  • When I was a littel boy my mother would sing this sone to me. I remember dancing with her in 1970-1971 during the Derek Sanderson show in Boston. When i got married, this was the song we danced to. Great Song.

  • just want this movie (im 20) and i gotta say its won the best movies i ever seen. I was really feeling those dudes and i was hopping they go to their goal.

  • masterpiece film... up there with Citizen Kane, La Dolce Vita and Ballad of Narayama

  • Whoopa-tee-ayoh, get along little doggies

  • roy west

  • I may not be a cowboy, but I sure am one hell of a stud!

  • 1:46 has radio in left hand

1:59 does not have radio in left hand

2:10 radio is back in his left hand

    wtf

  • @jpsplat could've switched the radio to the other hand :D big deal anwyays

  • @jpsplat obviously, he put the radio under his hat... to hear better. ;)

  • @jpsplat You're so meticulous.

  • @mitsubishi777 not going to lie, had to look that word up.

  • @jpsplat hahah he was just having a ciggy brake ;)

  • "I only get carsick on boats."

  • that s a pleasure to see this video again.

  • Questa meravigliosa canzone non è di John Barry (supervisor) ma di Fred Neil, e non è stata scritta per il film "Midnight Cowboy 1969" ma semplicemente inserita nella colonna sonora del film, cantata da Nilsson (released 1966)

  • Movies don't get much better than this. Everyone at their peak (Voigt, Hoffman, Barry, Schlesinger). "I'm going where the weather suits my clothes".

  • Awesome! The cook shouting "Where's that Joe Buck!?!?" is wearing a Mrs. Baird's cap! Still love me some Mrs. Baird's bread after all these years!

  • Great Movie for that time many sexual scene's , with Dustin Hofman and John Voight

  • I like the sign on the diner that states "world's largest hot dog." It's a subtle message about cowboy's tool.

  • I have the Jon Voight car!

  • @robandrene Yeah, I went to school with him!

  • Excellent movie! Way before it's time! Voight does a great job!

  • Caro amico ratso, tu mi manchi!

  • I think this movie answers a age old question: Where do all the unwanted people come ? "great movie"

  • just making sure this movie is worth watching before downloading it i am glad to inform it make' the grade/ use to alway's see it advertised on fox classic's but they never played it lol

  • That bit with the dog on TV. The face of pure love.

  • @tom91775 Wow, you pretty much summed it up! I have to make my children sit and watch the beginnings of the classics so they can get a sense of character development.

  • there are no movies like this any more, just a shitty 3d films that all they have there is better effect and yes, avatar is 1 of them

  • @XxA5AFxX

Hello, I happen to have a real 90 minute screenplay ready to go. It's not gritty like Midnight Cowboy but it's a love story, w/allot of laughs, a real plot, no special effects, easy to cast, easy to clothe, cheap to film, NO CROWD SCENES, so hardly any extras. It has wide appeal and can gross 20 X's what it is filmed for. Plus it comes with it's own hit song on my channel called "That's Where the Money Is" hey Mozel Tov.

  • audio is fucked up

  • did u know that was Angelina's DAD Voight that is

  • did u know that was angelina's DAD
