She always has that little problem with the tuck back; she seems to open up too early on it. I wonder if that is the element she took a fall on in training? She doesnt seem very confident with it somehow, and her dismount is extremely low and deep. But she is a lovely, supple gymnast to watch:)
I am so HAPPY she won - and SHUT UP those naysayers who were saying she would CHOKE and fall.. Take that says Ana Porgras to everyone who didn't believe in her.... I'm so happy she did so well.
Could anyone explain to me how did the judges end up with 8.5 execution score? She had 2 minor balance checks, a 3rd one that was more severe and a low dismount. She should still get a 9 or so, isn't it? If anyone can help me, I would be grateful. Thanks!
I would be amazed if she got deductions on her leaps, they are awesome. However the sheep jump didn't even get credit. She only received 6.1 instead of 6.5.
her switch ring was good, but her switch leap and split jumps were each shy of 180 and the back leg is bent, probably because she didn't get enough height to fully do 180. Might have something to do with the rib injury she's coming back from
You could be right...but I did manage to stop the image at maximum split and she does get 180 in every single jump...actually in the switch leasp she gets a little bit over 180. IMO :)
I think you're right about the switch leap, but I think the split jumps were cheated by bending the back leg. I also just noticed she bends her knee on the free walkover
Yeah..you're right about the aerial walkover..but I still don't see it in the jumps.:) Well, she's not perfect, not even when she hits but she is lovely to watch, for sure!
I'm so happy for her. She really got it together, even with that injury!
This is how all EF's should be won. She was over a point above second place! It's really cool that she had the highest D score and E score. If she can get more consistent with it, I have no doubt there will be world BB medals in her future!
<3<3 WELL DONE

don't know what the judges took, but I saw
sheep jump - closed hip angle -0.1
layout - lack of height -0.1
aerial cartwheel - wobble -0.1
switch leap - shy of split -0.1
back tuck - legs -0.1; wobble -0.1
split jump - shy of split -0.1
sissone - shy of split -0.1
double pike - lack of height -0.1; low chest -0.3; step -0.3
8.500

wow, I would have thought at .5 deduction for the dismount. Don't you think .7 is too much?

I think 0.6 is the right thing. 0.3 for the deep landing, and 0.3 for the big step
