I used to like GMail but I really hate the fact it doesn't have a preview pane. I'm not looking for an alternative preview "bubble," just a simple pane on the side or bottom where I could read my e-mails properly while being able to navigate in a simple way. It doesn't have to be "cool" but inefficient, I just want one that is logical. I can't believe why Google couldn't make that. That's the only reason I'm leaving GMail. Too bad, they don't seem to listen.

i was forced to use gmail when my msn was temporarily closed due to spam, now i think is thebest thing that could ever happened to me, i  make free calls, send sms, vinculate my acconts on facebook, gmail and others and the system learns what is important for me. i just wish this would have happened loong ago.

Gmail doenst read yuo mail. instead they have an automated system that looks for keywords in a mail letter. if they find keywords, im infering that they cancel the sending of the message. Probably US government thing.

I'm currently using Windows Live Mail but today I can't access my account which is very inconvieniate, to say the least, because I had some rather important e-mails to send! My family members can still access their accounts so all I can think is that a server is down or somthing. I don't know. But if it doesn't work by tomorrow... well... Gmail it is!

Live Hotmail is actually the worse email ever... you can use it only with Windows Live mail, and you can't use it with Thunderbird.

If you have a Mac, you cn't even access it because Safari isn't an enabled browser.

Gmail is free and compatible with everything

GMail is great but, I've made several suggestions regarding the colored labels, more colors for the labels. Also, with Yahoo I could print out the outlook of my Inbox with GMail I could not.  Let me see what else, GMail should have better Contacts management. Meaning sent email to contact "a" and a copy will be under "Sent" and contact "a" will be under "Recently Contacted" list. I would like to delete w/o delete contact "a" from the "Contacts" list.

Try to join Google Labs in your GMail settings. there are colored labels nows... but they're still testing them, so you would have to use Google Labs - features that are not totally ready yet...

Give them a second chance!! They're getting better and better and they've showed that they respect their users...

The SPAM filtering is very effective and saves having to fruitlessly train a spam filter. Only get one or two spams a week instead of almost a thousand. And now I know what else gmail is good for :-)
