That was...different... I don't know if I could have stomached creating that project. People can say what they want about using the duck. It's not a waste, it's art. And if I could give out an award for innovation, I'd give it to you. =] keep it up Phil!
The whole point of art is finding new ways to portray it, and frankly, no one thought about using a dead bird as a painting utensil, especially when it immortalizes the bird and the pilot. I think it's more of a positive than a negative.
I want to know where he got the bird and how it died and what he did with it afterward. And about the plane comment; I'd like to see you land a plane in the Hudson and save that many people.
You can't really learn how to land in water, in a plane not fitted for it, and most water landings in a plane like that end up with the whole thing ripping appart. He had less than 3 minutes to guide the plane with little to no engine power, into a river surrounded by boats and ferries. The truly amazing thing is how calm he was as he set the plane down.

...wow. I usually love your art.... but this is just disturbing. If you ate it afterward, I'd be fine with it. But this just made me feel really uncomfortable, especially the throwing of it against the wall, felt like a lack of respect for the bird's life.
I used a chicken for a film I shot, but then it was eaten after shooting. Not sure if you can eat painty bird.
I could have sworn her survived that one. I don't know if I can say the same for the bird. Also, Phil gave willingly to his art, not sure if the bird volunteered. Regardless of whether or not Phil did the actual killing, the bird died for the piece.
There was a huge petition against the guy who chained up the dog to the wall. If Phil threw his puppy against the wall everyone would be bawing.
Its dead already before this. And I bet that dog was still living when he was chained^^ And no, the bird died because the butcher killed it and for human consumption. It is how the world works. If we never kill them, they will overpopulate the world and disrupt the balance of the world.

Whether we let them on their own or raise them, if we don't kill them, they'll eventually be overpopulated. We raise some to have more food, because if we just kill them in the wild, their numbers will decrease and we will have less to eat, we will starve then die because of it.
I understand what you're saying but almost all the meat you consume has been locked up in a cage. I'm ok with eating an animal that has lived a full life but a lot of these animals we eat have never even seen sunlight. And we won't starve without meat. Ever heard of a vegetarian?
I heard that soy can actually be harmful to your health. I'm not sure but that makes me second guess tofu....but Raman noodles are vegetarian friendly if you get the mushroom flavor one ^.^
you have no clue what you're talking about... do you? If we don't raise, them, there's no overpopulation... But we raise just the right about because of the capitalism principle of supply and demand. No overpopulation, except the local stuff on farms, which mass farming makes inevitable. Are you telling me that turkey's would survive, let alone thrive, in the wild (I mean in their new genetically chosen state, where they're too fat to even mate naturally).
We raise em cause we need em. If we just kill wild animals for food, then over hunting might occur which will eventually decrease their population. And being an omnivore has some advantages too.
Say that about the countless animals lions rip and ravage (naturally of course) everyday... the always leave meat and such when they have their fill... it rots and goes back into the ground. The bird Phil just used will go into the ground also, when it is disposed of. So, is what a lion doing disturbing? If he was the one to kill it I would understand what you are saying, (still think it absurd but I would understand) he didn't, the people who sell it to the markets did!

...wow. I usually love your art.... but this is just disturbing. If you ate it afterward, I'd be fine with it. But this just made me feel really uncomfortable, especially the throwing of it against the wall, felt like a lack of respect for the bird's life.
I used a chicken for a film I shot, but then it was eaten after shooting. Not sure if you can eat painty bird.

I could have sworn her survived that one. I don't know if I can say the same for the bird. Also, Phil gave willingly to his art, not sure if the bird volunteered. Regardless of whether or not Phil did the actual killing, the bird died for the piece.
There was a huge petition against the guy who chained up the dog to the wall. If Phil threw his puppy against the wall everyone would be bawing.

Its dead already before this. And I bet that dog was still living when he was chained^^ And no, the bird died because the butcher killed it and for human consumption. It is how the world works. If we never kill them, they will overpopulate the world and disrupt the balance of the world.

I'm sorry but you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. If we killed the birds to keep the population in check, why do we raise animals just to be made into meat?

Whether we let them on their own or raise them, if we don't kill them, they'll eventually be overpopulated. We raise some to have more food, because if we just kill them in the wild, their numbers will decrease and we will have less to eat, we will starve then die because of it.

I understand what you're saying but almost all the meat you consume has been locked up in a cage. I'm ok with eating an animal that has lived a full life but a lot of these animals we eat have never even seen sunlight. And we won't starve without meat. Ever heard of a vegetarian?

And don't forget tofu for your protien. The good thing about tofu is, you don't taste it and you can put whatever you want on it.
I call my self a vegetarian who eats hot dogs. Because, no on could prove what's in a hot dog =P

I heard that soy can actually be harmful to your health. I'm not sure but that makes me second guess tofu....but Raman noodles are vegetarian friendly if you get the mushroom flavor one ^.^

you have no clue what you're talking about... do you? If we don't raise, them, there's no overpopulation... But we raise just the right about because of the capitalism principle of supply and demand. No overpopulation, except the local stuff on farms, which mass farming makes inevitable. Are you telling me that turkey's would survive, let alone thrive, in the wild (I mean in their new genetically chosen state, where they're too fat to even mate naturally).

We raise em cause we need em. If we just kill wild animals for food, then over hunting might occur which will eventually decrease their population. And sorry but I hardly know anything about turkeys cause its kinda rare here, to see one I mean, dead or alive and I haven't even eaten a turkey so I don't wanna research about it and besides, duck was used here. And being an omnivore has some advantages too.

Say that about the countless animals lions rip and ravage (naturally of course) everyday... the always leave meat and such when they have their fill... it rots and goes back into the ground. The bird Phil just used will go into the ground also, when it is disposed of. So, is what a lion doing disturbing? If he was the one to kill it I would understand what you are saying, (still think it absurd but I would understand) he didn't, the people who sell it to the markets did!

Well, here's the thing. It was either he bought it and used it to paint with it & do whatever with it or someone was going to eat it.
Either way it was going to get demolished.
Don't get me wrong, I love animals and I'm totally for their rights and protecting them, but the bird was already dead & he didn't go out and kill it just for this.
