When you see close up facial shots of MJ you can notice that his Vitalago was covered by makeup. I worked with a lady who had this disease however, she was white and her vitalago was dark shaded. Like MJ sang and believed it doesn't matter the color of your skin. I admire Michael more than I ever did growing up - He actually removed any predjudice that I had growing up. RIP MJ...you tortured soul. I wish you had embraced your "blackness" instead of becoming "white". For those of you who want to come at me with hateful comments... because of him, I grew up hating my dark features/ethnicity and wanted to erase all the african/latino off of me. Took years of cosmetic surgery, then therapy and common sense to realize I was buying into this false "white supremacist" beauty standard that is all over the media. Now I love my darkness and wide nose and curly hair.

Very well said. Michael always said in his songs that he wanted to go beyond color. He never wanted it the way it went yet he was blamed for it. It is like Candi said, he did the best he could & knocked out a lot of barriers. He was beautiful no matter what. He knew what he was & did the best he could & was proud to be African American
