meh... make the if true timer event on your dude so that he doesn't just fire a stream of bullets, you also need to make the poeple move (this requires alot of objects for one guy) but it's quite cool actually

he draws a block with the textur for the walls, darws a texture at the same height as the building for the roof, and sets the camera above the player, using x and y as 0 so it stays above, and the z value to set the heigh.

trust me, i'm also making top-down game in gm.

I also forgot to mention, most top-down games like this are on a single plane, meaning that the gameplay and room design are all 2D, just being rendered in 3D. So, it's not a tough transition form 2D to top-down 3D. Give it a shot, you will find it pretty easy.

Also, use the tutorials and GM help to learn about enabling and using 3D mode, it will make the process soo much easier.

Nope, i use GM, it is actually rendered in 3D using the d3d functions. Although gameplay is on a single plane, and therefore 2D gameplay, the buildings are all real 3D

I agree with this make it that when you press space or left button whatever you use to shoot, starts a.. Lets say for a machine gun make it a 5-10 Step alarm, Then after the alarm is done, you can shoot again. remembering that 15 step is 1 second.. 5-10 is like half.

I guess this is an early build... the graphics are quite good, and it's obvious you put quite a lot of work into it; however... you really need to remake the car physics. And the gun bullets move in a weird way, too.

i know how to do it, first you creates a object, call it view or whatever you want. put the screen follow at the view object. now, go to the player and set the parent to the object you set the screen follow on. do the same at the car object. lastly, place the view object in the room. now the screen will follow two objects, not at the same time
