The N900 is no doubt one of the most powerful portable devices of the day, but for a phone, I find simplistic implementations to be more practical.

@soulchamuziqonline Multitouch can also be on resistive Touchscreens.The N900 donesnt have multitouch because its OS is more Computer-like the mouse arrow is just invisible and on a pc and maemo only supports one mouse.

@skrbicdu i made a mistake when saying "check the specs..." i forgot to mention about the SO optimization. iPhone is really slow in some things, like opening messages... 3seconds+ for that is slow, you know? it doesnt happens in n900.

@FutureOfVideos What's wrong with it? At least it's better than capacitive. Capacitive doesn't works well with gloves. Or normal Stylus. Resistive ones can even detect the pressure (pretty cool on "mypaint" application) more or less. And hey, you use multi touch to zoom out, zoom in, pinching, and not more... So i still prefer my N900 above all iPhones. Even my N73, i still prefer it above all iPhones (although it has a WAY LOWER specs)

@kamisakea hmmm, dunno why you say that u prefer resistive over capacitive... You get a much better UI experience with a capacitive touchscreen. I love my Nokia 5800, but sometimes I wish it had a capacitive touchscreen as that is definitely more user friendly and more responsive. In fact the only thing that turned me off about the N900 was the resistive part. Otherwise, IMO, it's the N8 of today's time, with great specs inside it... definitely much much better than iPhone.

i really like resistive but everybody has its likes and dislikes.my hands arent made for multitouch thought. xD multitouch is great on big screens not on a phone (except for some games). i also had iphone on my hands (3gs) but it was only for a few minutes so i dont know about touch response of it

BTW, you're absolutely correct in saying that N900 vs 5800 in touchscreen dept, N900 pwns it! I used it once at a mall and I seriously thought it was a capacitive, till I chkd out on GSMArena.
