I won't deny it, I consider this part of the game to be quite fucked up, all you need is a little imagination and the realization that this entire segment involves murdering mutated children ....
That's not really true. You can finish the game without killing one single child. You have absolute freedom of choice here.
None of my characters have exceptional Luck either, which makes their hit chances lower. I was planning on toughing it out until I got Assault Rifles to save from putting points in stats I'll only be relying on at early points, but it's proving difficult.
Not giving up though, it just takes some patience.
