  • This scene scared me so bad when I saw it as a child. It still gives me the creeps!!!

  • good god!

  • This is one of the most impactful death scenes in horror film history. It's still disturbing over 40 years later.

  • The scne isnt scary because she just lays their. The film isnt that scary anymore... its justa b classic of cult cinema. Although i love it with a passion!

  • Just wanted to let everyone know that Gary Streiner, sound engineer from this film, is trying to save the chapel that's in the beginning of this movie from being torn down. Please join the "Living Dead Festival" group on facebook if you want to know more. Gary and Kyra Schon, who played lil' Karen Cooper in this scene here, are very active in the group and love talking to people. Both Gary and Kyra are just the sweetest people you could ever meet! SAVE THE CHAPEL!

  • Wow, I am 14, a huge Romero fan, have seen that part 20 times and I still have nightmares from that.

That zombie girl is a bitch!

    Scary but good

  • LOLZ I read the description and though it said 'Towel'

    I was like WTF :D

  • Yep,hands down, the screaming sound effect is really disturbing.Kinda of like the echoing in the shining, with the screams of indians and a woman over the opening credits. This movie was also a great metaphor for the time. The country was in chaos, vietnam.young and old had never been more divided in our history, ben and tom vs cooper represent that. The lawman talking about ''body count'' kills, media foolishly believing and portraying a futile endeavor as winnable.Great ending, great energy great film

  • I wish people would pause a moment and actually realize why this was scary, especially in 1968. It's a low-budget film, so don't expect much. But you have this unfortunately reanimated girl who is stabbing her innocent mother to death. The scene's eeriness is enhanced by the mom's looped screams (something you might hear in a Ke$ha song, lmao).

It's praised simply because it's one of the most scariest movies of that time, and is respected today.

  • Only scene of the movie that truly scared me, that twisted sounding scream loop that played really did the trick, that thing creeped me out, I probably shouldn't have watch this in the dark just now but oh well lol. The mother was all like "Oh baby" tryna be all sweet, when u just now seen the little wretch eating out her daddy's brains, like WTF!!! I would've ran like hell, not just stood there to die, or better yet, I wldve grabbed the trowel and kilt that lil hoe lol

  • People who don't like this movie don't have a brain.

  • @castingtherunes ...because the zombies ate it.

  • she ate the guys arm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    omg thats gross

but this is an awesome show.

    one of my favorites

  • Although this is a cheap old school zombie flick and of course the mom had practically eternity to run, I still find this to be one of the most haunting murder scenes!

  • I don't think the mother wanted to believe she had to run from her daughter. Poor lady.

  • At the beginning, Karen was chewing on a heart like it was a piece of cake and her mother interrupted her. I'd be pissed too.

  • theres no need to get all defensive it`s just a movie

  • Kyra Schon, you sure know how to kill your stepmom. You rock.

  • Perfect sound with scream-loop produced by Karl Hardman who played Cooper in that movie.

  • This is the funniest thing i've ever seen!!!

  • Was that girl wearing stockings?

  • 0:18-0:30 ....get the fuck up and run!@!@!

  • dammit why dident she jsut kick her away?

  • there wouldn't be a scene like this then...

    @.@

  • That Scene scared me at 15 years old. It is truly what nightmares are made of.

  • pussy ass faggot

  • Fine, if that doesn't scare you (to some people who haven't seen the movie and know what fear is anymore) What scares you?

  • ive seen the movie but honestly i dont think its very scary lol i mean i think new horror movies suck so dont think i dont know what fear is but i just think older zombie movies are kinda cheesy

  • I laughed nonstop at this! small children +trowels= BAD!!!!

  • The music just creeped me out.

  • Very funny...i don't understand why some people defines this scene as masterpiece.

She fallen and did not stand up all that time; the zombie thinks to kill her victim before to eat it; blood on the wall only one time...oh, scary XD this is because i don't like this movie

  • Number of stabs: 14. Nasty way to go.

  • why where you counting? loser much?

  • Judge not, lest ye be judged. Matthew, 7:1.
