This album was great for Slipknot. It's just...different. Every fucking song on it is unique in it's own way. Tempo changes, melody, blast beats, chill shit (Circle), etc. The production itself was badass too. It just sounds like they were all in the same room recording it. Fucking masterpiece. Every Slipknot album is unique but great. I hope their new album kicks ass. I'll shit my pants if they release a 2-cd album.

Black Metal is fucking shit and so is Grindcore. Melodic death metal is good. So are the bands Death and Opeth thats about it. I'm getting sick of Death and Black Metal fans trashing every single sub genre which metal has. Also don't be bitching saying I'm not a real metal fan. I will never understand why some hardcore Slipknot fans hate this album. It showed some of their best instrumentation (at that point), while still remaining heavy and original. Over the years, I've also really grown to love Corey's raspy roar that this album showcased just as much as his low, guttural growls. Vol. 3 and Iowa are pretty much tied for my favorite record.

@PeachSurebet True. It took me a while to really enjoy Corey's raspy voice from the Vol. 3 era. What's crazy is I think his mask from then actually matched perfectly with his voice. He sounds like he's in pain, agony, kind of..inhuman, and his mask was all fucked up too.lol
