i thought, kodokan style this is uki goshi, but kawashi style it's not. kawashi style you place your whole back against the belly of uke. the position of your hands say if its uki goshi or o goshi
@PaulietheJudoka thats not exactly uki goshi, he did it wrong, you need to put your feet together in the moment of the trow so you can lift the body easier, the way he did it puts more strain on the body and makes it harder to make the move
it is ... you probably have it confused with 'O-goshi' ... If you notice, the tore did not turn around 180 degrees, he went in with more of a 90 degree angle =D
@VBH8888 Uki goshi is when you grab your opponent by the waist , like in this video . O goshi is when you grab your opponent more to the shoulder or back . It's similar , but there is a difference .
no he only did half- hip this is Uki goshi , Ogoshi he would turn fully
islamicorca 2 months ago
No he did it right, half hip or floating hip and twisting motion. I mean he didn't pivot his foot back so it cant be O Goshi.

Nope, that is uki goshi. If you don't think this is uki goshi, then you don't know uki goshi.

It's uki goshi because of how he drives his hips into him sideways. If he showed it full speed it would probably look more "floaty".

Thats not uki goshi!!!! odear god if your not going to do it right then dont make a video of it

This is Uki-Goshi
Notice how he also has an O-Goshi Video. This is CLEARLY Uki-Goshi, Ogoshi is turning fully around, he's putting his hip straight in.

@PaulietheJudoka Your obsolutely right. Uki Goshi is a "half hip" throw. O goshi is a "full hip" throw.
The way I was taught, I finish O goshi with my opponent on my back. In Uki Goshi, my opponent is more on my one hip (as shown in video) then my back.

Uki Goshi is a good short man throw.
Especially done hard, you get a good slam to their bladder.
BuckMuscles 2 years ago
that is uki goshi he simply drove his hip into uke's hip for the throw. It was not a full hip or lifting hip throw. He did it effortlessly
aquin520 2 years ago
that is like half o goshi with uki goshi ...
