One thing that i love/hate about ivy in every sc game is that they change her stances and it is frustrating when you're programmed with all of her moves, then they bring out the next sc game and you have to learn everything all over again. Then sc3 changed the formula and added some new moves, now i think having the ability to change the form of the sword between moves is great, especially for us seasoned ivy players making it hard for n00bs to jump in and pick her and keep winning like maxi.

Special Mode breaks the game. Duh. I don't get why you're asking "Is Ivy Broken" based on evidence from Special play. See what you can find in Standard then ask. Brokenness discovered in Special isn't new or interesting nor does it even matter.

I suppose we each are entitled to our opinions. I think Special is fun. I also have an 80% win ratio with Ivy in standard, so she must be pretty high-tier there as well. Play Vidness online sometime on Xbox live.

yeah this is a good video, one that I needed to watch. I'm having trouble with Ivy's defense, because faster characters are simply rushing me, however, I need to be more offense to counter the general strategy of quicker opponents.

Awesome combos! can you explain me some things?

- her "follow" move (whip: 2B+K?), what does it need to send the oponent in the air again? I did it some times but usually it just hits the guy on the floor that's all.

- in your "ring out with her back to the out area" combo, how did you cancel the move to face back?

It has to be during a combo where you have done a counter-hit stun...some of her natural moves activate counterhit. And the skill to interrupt moves is the "Cancel" skill, part of the special skills.

there are moves that activate counter hit without being a real counterhit? how do I find those? also, I can see some moves you do that should make the oponent fall (the one at 0:11 for example), but instead are stunning them, is that also a special skill you have to equip? I play only standard matches; I want to learn combos/strings for that.

Question, at 1:40 of the video Ivy grabbed her opponents Neck with her weapon and pulled him towards her. How did you do that? I know you can do it in SC2 but i never seen it done in SC4.

Coil A, A+K. The A+K threw him back to the ground because it hit his head in mid-air. It also does the same thing on a grounded opponent on a counterhit.

I think Ivy is the best, let me know if you find out any new combos with Ivy. A lot of people think they mess her up. I think they made her better. You just have to practice with her.
