  • Is it going to be cheaper this way than just buying a good used one, or do you just do it for the hobby? Also, I always wondered b/c the engines are so weak, would it be possible to insert something way more powerful like a Corvette engine and trans in these? I know they would be set up backwards, not really sure, just more of something I always thought about and maybe you could answer.

  • let me noe when you get it up to 88 mph

  • may i ask how much you purchased her for?!?!?!

  • WHAT A GREAT RESTORATION PROJECT!!! too bad that´s an automatic, the only thing sitty in the DeLorean was the transsmition anyways

  • I could kill the motherfucker who did this.

  • I think i remember this car and have seen pics. If memory serves me correctly the two rear panels were just hanging in the barn for no reason. Was it also in the DMC Houston calendar?

  • I need to find one of these!

  • What a nugget!!! I wish I had one of these in my backyard

  • Dude I see a ton of deloreans like this on the internet and I wonder why the hell I can never be this lucky

  • HOWWWW could anyone do this to such a machine. THANK YOU for working so hard to bring her back from the dead!

  • Should have backhanded the previous owner.

  • @Lun1k4lm

Agreed! They have the nerve to let this beautiful car rot.

  • That's so sad. :(

It's like seeing a dead dog on the road.

  • That car needs a lot of love

  • Wow almost makes ya wanna cry who could let a Delorean get like that

  • one good thing about this car is no rust damage. should be a fairly easy resto compared to a lot of the rust bucket mild steel cars. looks like fun, hope to see it running soon

  • Like the gas flap hood, must be an early vin#. Good luck with it and I hope to see it back on the road.

Looks like the video was taken in TN or KY.

  • Thanks. Its an Aug 81 build.

BTW, I don't know how you guessed it, but yeah it is in Tennessee.

  • How can someone who owns a car like that just let it sit there sad.

  • what a waste of a beautiful car, left out there all this time, I've worked on 2 of them, fitted a stainless frame in one and engine work on another. beautiful machine hope you'll enjoy it

  • Thanks.

I have enjoyed restoring it. I cant wait to take that first drive. Hopefully if all goes well the car will be completed and drivable by next January.

  • Would you make a video sometime of what you have done so far?

I'm looking for one here in Ireland but they are scarce, Their is a delorean club in Ireland but most of the cars dont come anywhere near the standard of US models.

  • At the moment I have the car stored for the winter months. In a few weeks, when it starts getting warmer out, Im going to pull the car out of storage and start work on it again. Ill be sure to post more videos of the progress as I go along.

  • Kudos to you for restoring an automotive treasure. I can't believe someone left it in a field like that!

  • Thanks jammer!

One of these days I'll get around to uploading a video of the progress so far.
