  • great job

  • i have always wanted to lick Uhura's slutty leather boots, and i know I am not the only one.

  • Type ieM

  • Hey thanks, that adds a few more seconds of Trek I'd never seen! Yay for more drama and suspense ;)

  • Dear "albion432,"

I'm sorry that I don't know your real name -- I use mine -- but, anyway, I'd like to thank you for your imaginative effort to reconstruct what the original episode might've looked like. I'm sorry that you got some friction for it, which, in my opinion, was not deserved. I wish you all the best with your future efforts. I have the honor to be

    Cordial-Lee yours,

Paul Lee (my true name, not some stupid alias)

  • Those lines, could they have come from the episode teaser?

  • @powergirl901 Yes, as mentioned in the description, they came from the preview. Due to the difficulties involved in filming ST:TOS (especially in the 1st season), editing may have continued up to the day an episode aired on tv. Sometimes footage edited into the preview a week earlier was edited from the episode, yet survives in the preview. This is one such case. I just reedited it back into the episode where it most likely would have occured.

  • @albion432 And the same thing happens with movies as well.

"In Darkness there's strength." Never in the theatrical presentation

"The wait is over." Also never used in the theatrical presentation

  • would not have mattered at all

  • Uh, if this is genuine, these are probably syndication cuts, rather than cuts from the original airing.

  • This is a lie. He used footage from other parts of the episode to make the second part of this video.

  • Listen, BondFreek, were do you get off calling me a lair? You, on the other hand, have proven yourself to be an ass by your own words. As I said in the description, I found the extra lines in the episode preview, thought it would be fun to fit them back into the episode, and then to share that edit with others. Why then did you feel it necessary to jump on this opportunity to show the world what an ass you could make of yourself?

  • @albion432. @albion432. I have the episode. I know it by hart. The lines you used are all in the episode but all over the episode. You reconstructed a lie. Maybe some one told you, printed out or even a mixed memory. But it's still a lie. Notice I did not call you a liar I called this cut a lie. Believing a lie and repeating it is not lying but it still does not make the lie a truth.

  • @BondFreek And how often do you keep lying? Especially when you call something a lie, you lie. Did it ever occur to you what if they had used that footage on the original airing? No of course not. It requires a brain to understand that.

Since those lines were shot, though unused, they still exist. Only confirming that YOU are the liar.

  • @Potrimpo. those lines were used in the episode. Watch again. They are not in the order shone here. I'm not lying nor was I calling him a liar. I said that the video was a lie. Just because you say some thing that you think is true does not mean it is not. Children say that the Easter bunny is real, are they lying? They go on to accept the truth why can’t you people.

  • @BondFreek I too have that episode as well on DVD, in fact I have the entire series. It's available on Youtube as well, and I watched this episode, along with Shore Leave, Arena and this all the time.

But still, how can you be positive that the version presented by albion432 was never meant to be? Or that it was never an original concept? Hm?

One concept of Nemesis is where Picard ordered auto destruct while still attached to the Scimitar. And changed later.

  • @albion432 Because he's a moron, that's why.

  • @BondFreek And I just checked the episode, to see where the "additions" that you claim that albion432 got, and it wasn't present in that episode. And this is the original episode, not the remastered.

    You were wrong.

  • The Murasaki Effect. Sounds like a good name for a rock group.

  • Y'know, if we're getting to this level of detail, it's interesting to note that a common complaint of the supporting cast was Shatner hogging all the close ups. Here you have Uhura speaking in a close up and then, for no apparent reason, we cut to Kirk as she's still speaking. Would it not have been better editing to catch his dramatic reaction to her last words AFTER she finished her line? I mean, Bill's looking good in this first year, but she was way hotter!

  • the focus was on showing Kirk peeping into Uhura's shirt

  • lol, funny....

  • "Lieutenant, stand up straight!"

  • The cameras also cut to the guest star while Uhura was speaking. So I guess you can accuse him of 'hogging all the close ups' too.

  • I totally agree, Uhura was hot.

  • In the script, Kirk's line that if they're not there, they're dead by now comes before Ferris' line "You said something about a needle in a haystack. Useless."

In the script, Kirk further says: "Not if you want your needle back bad enough."

  • Thank you, I may do a reedit as some point with the correct sequence. Where did you get your hands on a shooting script? Do you have access to more?

  • I'm the guy who reviews over at Orionpress.

  • You do an awesome job! I'm a big fan of that website, in fact what you wrote inspired my youtube video "The Enemy Within Act 1 Script Reedit". If you know of any other episodes that were edited out of script order please let me know and I'd be happy to reedit those too! Keep up the great work!!

  • The additional scenes are from the episode preview

  • I love the action music after Uhura talks. It's what I hear when I'm asked to do something I don't want to do, LOL!

  • Every second more of Trek that we get makes the Universe a better place. Thank you!

  • @kimberleyoga What a load of rubbish. Star trek TOS & it's of shots were good TV, but making the world a better place! Come of it. I'm sure several million people have died in wars, since this episode was first screened. Gene Roddenberry had a nice idea what the world may look like in the future, but we are a long, long, long way of from his dream.

  • @ludvan64 Do you take everything so literally? If so, you need to lighten up Francis.

  • awsome!
