My closest friend was miraculously healed from a deadly cancer that he wasn't supposed to survive from. That was over 5 years ago. And lastly, it has nothing to do with us Pentecostals. It has all to do with God. I rebuke any brother or sister in Christ who would have such a prideful attitude and lifestyle to say such things.

I have never watched a group of people bend to the will of one man so distinctly in all of my life. It's disgustiing, plain and simple. I have attended a few services, but I have never been a member of UPC. However, I did not draw the conclusion that it was brainwashing, not intentionally. I do think some of the leaders may be a little controlling. That is just a fault of being a man w/ authority.
I am convinced there are members who are genuinely saved (speaks in tongues). We can only examine ourselves. Truthfully, we can only testify to one experience as real, our own!

I'm a Christian and find this very disturbing. "Make sure you speak in tongues before you leave this place tonight?" Are you for real? Tongues is one of the lesser gifts and has a one true purpose and it is to spread the gospel. Not to create disorder and have people shake as if they were devil possessed... People tend to get a hold on "irrelevant gifts" such as tongues and forget about sinlessness... Read: Acts 2:6-11. Verse 8 ought to hint you something. And 1 John 3:8-10. Sin or God! Choose!

The Holy Ghost is the 3rd part of the Triune God, and you can not have one without the other. Spirit baptisum places a person in the body of Christ 1COR 12:13, and being filled is diffrant than being baptised in the Spirit (peter is Filled over and over again in Acts, but only baptised in Christ one time).

Of course if the whole service was nothing but speaking in tongues, then that would be out of order. On the Day of Pentecost, everyone began to speak in tongues, and when people questioned what was going on, Peter got up and preached (prophesied) unto those people. But like I said, not all of our services is always about speaking in tongues.

Many didn't know what was going on. So Peter stood up and said "These people are not drunk as you suppose. This is the Gift of promise, the Gift of the Holy Ghost." Those tongues are a sign to the unbeliever that they received the Holy Spirit. 1st Corinthians 14 talks about the gift of tongues. Please read it.

He's not saying we need to speak but we need to be refilled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit until that utterance takes place again. Some people believe that receiving the Holy Spirit is a 1-time experience. No, it's got to be a lifestyle experience. Repent daily till the Holy Spirit refills us, allowing us to again speak in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.

Firstly, I am a Christian, and I have been out of Pentecostalism for a while. I have been closer to God since I left the abusive environment.
Secondly, Tongues, as mentioned in the Bible, were a real language and not some silly gibberish. It was used to break the language barrier to allow the apostles to evangelise. How does uttering non-sensical gibberish praise God?? Also, it clearly says that not everyone has the ability to speak in tongues.
Maybe you should read Acts 2:39. God promises us the gift of the Holy Ghost. Not everyone will recieve it but at least the promise is there for us to take advantage of.

The gift of the Holy Ghost IS The Holy Ghost, which equates to salvation. Show me ANYWHERE in the bible where THE GIFT is tongues. I can show you a multitude of scripture where the Gift is the Holy Spirit. This is the BIGGEST misinterpretation of the UPC Cult movement.
I've got a question. Not to be contrary with your belief, but how do you know if you have the Holy Ghost without tongues? Is it with the fruits of the Spirit? In Acts 2:4 the Holy Spirit came down, and they spoke in tongues, but the Spirit gave the utterance... Doesn't Tongues at least prove that you have the Holy Spirit, because the Spirit gives the utterance? I figure this is how they know they have the Spirit, but the speaking of tongues isn't the Spirit, but proves that you have it?
When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues is a sign just as Jesus taught in Mark 16:17. A person can still be a good person and still not be saved. When Peter went to Cornelius, and heard him speak in tongues, Peter knew Cornelius received the Holy Spirit. Cornelius was a good person who gave to the church and feared God, but had not the Holy Spirit that is Christ. And that Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Christ utters things in the Spirit that we know not of.

That was a letter to the church of Ephesus for they were abusing the gifts of the spirit. There are 2 kinds of tongues one for interpretation for the nonbeliever and one as evidence of recieving and being in the spirit whicich is no interperated. The tongues are for a sign to the non believe and evidence of God moving in you and taking control.

You can't teach anyone to speak in tongues, nor can you "teach" anyone to dance in the spirit. I believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. But I believe that what this guy is commanding the crowd to do is wrong.
He is speaking to people most of which already have the baptism of the Holy Spirit so he is not "teaching them to talk in tongues. Secondly, he is not doing anything different than David by "commanding" them to dance. Just basic scriptural principles
Two totally different things. Dancing for joy, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord, and the BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT are different. No one but the spirit can cause you to be baptized by Him. What David did was dance for joy in front of the Lord. Read the passage.

See Jesus died to send the Holy ghost. The Holy ghost wil put the word of God in you BUT all they have is a book. @PentecostalTruth I'm sorry but I beg to differ. I was an Atheist before I came into the church. You know what kept me going? People I knew personally were being healed. My closest friend was miraculously healed from a deadly cancer that he wasn't supposed to survive from. That was over 5 years ago. And lastly, it has nothing to do with us Pentecostals. It has all to do with God. I rebuke any brother or sister in Christ who would have such a prideful attitude and lifestyle to say such things.

As far as your friend goes being healed of cancer. Have him release his medical records to the media. That would make a great story.

As far as your experience, I believe you and I'm sorry people had to fake it for those reasons. But you find fakers everywhere. I've known some in my church as well. But I know those who have been healed miraculously, including myself, and I know it's real.

@musicmusing On the day of Pentecost, everyone spoke in tongues at the same time. People outside in the streets heard them up in the upperroom and thought they were all drunks! Then Peter got up and he preached (form of prophecy) what was going on. I believe there was a reason Pastor Mangun spoke this message to his church. People can think we only focus on speaking in tongues, but we gain no understanding that way. There is preaching in the church and people need to know about that! :-)

I have never watched a group of people bend to the will of one man so distinctly in all of my life. It's disgustiing, plain and simple. Personally, I find organized religion as a whole a bit off putting, but this organization, is by far one of the most small minded of them all.

I have attended a few services, but I have never been a member of UPC. However, I did not draw the conclusion that it was brainwashing, not intentionally. I do think some of the leaders may be a little controlling. That is just a fault of being a man w/ authority.
I am convinced there are members who are genuinely saved (speaks in tongues). We can only examine ourselves. Truthfully, we can only testify to one experience as real, our own!

I'm a Christian and find this very disturbing. "Make sure you speak in tongues before you leave this place tonight?" Are you for real? Tongues is one of the lesser gifts and has a one true purpose and it is to spread the gospel. Not to create disorder and have people shake as if they were devil possessed... People tend to get a hold on "irrelevant gifts" such as tongues and forget about sinlessness... Read: Acts 2:6-11. Verse 8 ought to hint you something. And 1 John 3:8-10. Sin or God! Choose!

The Holy Ghost is the 3rd part of the Triune God, and you can not have one without the other. Spirit baptisum places a person in the body of Christ 1COR 12:13, and being filled is diffrant than being baptised in the Spirit (peter is Filled over and over again in Acts, but only baptised in Christ one time).
the Holy Spirit is not the Spirit spoke about in 1 Cor:14, but mans spirit. Its time we drop this false teaching of Parham.

@musicmusing First and foremost, not all services are like this. In God's eyes, there was a reason for Pastor Mangun to tell his church to do this. Of course if the whole service was nothing but speaking in tongues, then that would be out of order. On the Day of Pentecost, everyone began to speak in tongues, and when people questioned what was going on, Peter got up and preached (prophesied) unto those people. But like I said, not all of our services is always about speaking in tongues.

andyjohnos07, you are wrong. In Acts 2:6-11 the people marveled at the sound, and the fact that the people were praising and magnifying God in their own native tongues. Many didn't know what was going on. So Peter stood up and said "These people are not drunk as you suppose. This is the Gift of promise, the Gift of the Holy Ghost." Those tongues are a sign to the unbeliever that they received the Holy Spirit. 1st Corinthians 14 talks about the gift of tongues. Please read it.

I believe in a God that supplies all our needs according to His will. I will tell you personally that I have suffered this whole last month broke. But God has allowed things in my house that I need to live on to last all month.. Things that normally would need to be replaced before the month was over. I don't believe that God will make us rich, for even Jesus said the rich will never make it to Heaven. But like King David, I have never seen the righteous forsaken or begging for bread.

He's not saying we need to speak but we need to be refilled with the baptism of the Holy Spirit until that utterance takes place again. Some people believe that receiving the Holy Spirit is a 1-time experience. No, it's got to be a lifestyle experience. Repent daily till the Holy Spirit refills us, allowing us to again speak in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
He even says we need a new baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire. The Bible relates scriptures about Oil with the Holy Ghost.

yeah! But i think you've misinterpreted the speaker. Why he's telling that "make sure we've talked in tongues" is because there will be a great blessing after wards. It's not that he's commanding them to do it their selves. Of course without God they can't have it anyway.

Firstly, I am a Christian, and I have been out of Pentecostalism for a while. I have been closer to God since I left the abusive environment.
Secondly, Tongues, as mentioned in the Bible, were a real language and not some silly gibberish. It was used to break the language barrier to allow the apostles to evangelise. How does uttering non-sensical gibberish praise God?? Also, it clearly says that not everyone has the ability to speak in tongues.

The preacher in this video is requiring everyone to speak in tongues, which is directly defying 1Cor 14:27. 14:6, 19 say that tongues is the least important of the gifts-why is so much emphasis placed on it??

The gift of the Holy Ghost IS The Holy Ghost, which equates to salvation. Show me ANYWHERE in the bible where THE GIFT is tongues. I can show you a multitude of scripture where the Gift is the Holy Spirit. This is the BIGGEST misinterpretation of the UPC Cult movement.

I've got a question. Not to be contrary with your belief, but how do you know if you have the Holy Ghost without tongues? Is it with the fruits of the Spirit? In Acts 2:4 the Holy Spirit came down, and they spoke in tongues, but the Spirit gave the utterance... Doesn't Tongues at least prove that you have the Holy Spirit, because the Spirit gives the utterance? I figure this is how they know they have the Spirit, but the speaking of tongues isn't the Spirit, but proves that you have it?

When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues is a sign just as Jesus taught in Mark 16:17. A person can still be a good person and still not be saved. When Peter went to Cornelius, and heard him speak in tongues, Peter knew Cornelius received the Holy Spirit. Cornelius was a good person who gave to the church and feared God, but had not the Holy Spirit that is Christ. And that Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Christ utters things in the Spirit that we know not of.

If you are a Christian, sheep should be a compliment. I am a sheep in the shepherds flock. It's OK to have your own thoughts and feelings on where you are in the flock. But, If your thoughts lead to actions that take you out of the flock then it is up to the shepherd to go get you through reproof and corection. Mabee you could use some.

The Holy Ghost is nothing to debate about...all I can say is go to a Holy Ghost filled pentecostal service and trust me if your heart is not harden towards God you will definitely feel the power of God. The bible says you can not enter into heaven without being baptized in the water (in the name of Jesus) and with the Holy Spirit (the Holy Ghost). Read the bible and see how they baptized and what is the evidence of the Holy Ghost. I pray God gives revelation to His word.

The Holy Spirit moves when it is NECCESSARY and NOT when someone makes sure you SPEAK IN TONGUES before you LEAVE! You cant demand the holy spirit to do ANYTHING! It is something that YOU CANT FORCE ON PEOPLE! I DONT CARE WHAT RACE YOU ARE! Why are you SO STUPID?

That was a letter to the church of Ephesus for they were abusing the gifts of the spirit. There are 2 kinds of tongues one for interpretation for the nonbeliever and one as evidence of recieving and being in the spirit whicich is no interperated. The tongues are for a sign to the non believe and evidence of God moving in you and taking control.

Yes "white people" can have church like this only they more like laughing around drunk in the spirit . And don't even tell me that's not real because it says it in the bible Acta 2:2-21 I know, I was raised in a pentecostal home. I have never been drunk in the spirit of had the holy ghost but I know it's real because it's in the Bible. Unless, by your own faith, you are saying the bible is lying. (I'm not trying to fight I'm trying to make things clearer)

am i the only one that realizes these alleged tongues are made up of english phonemes (sounds)? i would imagine asian people who speak in tongues would speak with asian phonemes. this means that tongues are little more than a placebo effect rather than an actual religious experience hahahaha

Love this pastor!!I feel the Power of the Holy Ghost as I'm watching this video!God is alive and WELL!!He wants to seek and save that which is lost--we don't come to Him unless He draws us-I WORSHIP and praise the LORD!!!!We dance, run the isles,clap,exhort the name of JESUS at our church-GOD is REAL!

isn't joy part of the fruit of the Spirit too? this is not a false manifestation of the Spirit, it's a joy manifestation of the Spirit. Yes, we need self control, they have selfcontrol...but when it comes to God, we will dance like David danced! So was David wrong for dancing? God Bless (the Holy Ghost is for you too! Read Acts 2:38 and 2:39!

You can't teach anyone to speak in tongues, nor can you "teach" anyone to dance in the spirit. I believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. But I believe that what this guy is commanding the crowd to do is wrong.

He is speaking to people most of which already have the baptism of the Holy Spirit so he is not "teaching them to talk in tongues. Secondly, he is not doing anything different than David by "commanding" them to dance. Just basic scriptural principles

Two totally different things. Dancing for joy, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord, and the BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT are different. No one but the spirit can cause you to be baptized by Him. What David did was dance for joy in front of the Lord. Read the passage.
