  • Where can I get one? how much?

  • ummm, i could do this with a radio, a 2 dollar laser, and a video camera. in animusic the lasers actually make the sound themselves.

  • @shark513rlz if you can do with that then please do it, upload to youtube and share with us! Animusic is wonderful but it is a CG, anything is real and anything shown real makes music!

  • @ChicoDaRave I believe that what he means is that the midi is controlled by the laser, and not vice versa. That wouldn't be terribly difficult if one used a set of optical sensors and a rotating laser, and had one midi tone assigned to each sensor. Or course, in order to play multiple tones simultaneously one would need multiple lasers.

  • @Soapygold laser is driven by midi... the midi could be driven by laser too but the set up would be MUCH more complicated with several sensors. Actually polyphony can be obtained with just one laser but a high speed scanner could be necessary and this is expensive!

  • @shark513rlz You do realize that Animusic is animated, and the lasers are not making any sound at all, yes?

  • Pleaase..Make animusic real. PLEASE.

  • Just waitin' on a couple more lasers, are we?

Maybe look into a plasma speaker for the strings or something.

  • what is the 1st song called? Great job. Im sure it took a lot of time and effort to build this set up

  • O_o Geek Alert!!!! O_o

  • Nice! Could you post a version with lights on, just for we can see how the hardware looks like?

  • is the softare free?

  • @mwmatthewkc51 ... there are free and paid softwares... any software which can send MIDI commands can control my device!

  • how do you make the laser visible like that (you know the line of the laser) i have built one but i can only get the dot to show (the end of the laser) if you know what i mean

  • @mwmatthewkc51 your question is already answered... just some smoke!

  • @ChicoDaRave sorry i did no pay attention

  • next step... get different colored lights and some mirrors!!

  • that's awesome. What is the software and the equipment that you are using?

  • Thank you @yakridersky ... software is Cubase SX3 but any MIDI enabled software would work... laser equipment is custom, I made it myself and it is directly MIDI compatible (receives note on and off commands)

  • oh my gosh

  • Frikking awesome! Expecially the first song! It's beautiful! What's it called? Adn the second song.. *sigh* brings back many memories <3 Timeless! But you, you are the future! :D

  • subscribe!

  • How did you make the stepper motor correspond with the positions of MIDI codes? This is great for you own work. Love it!

  • Excellent!!!

  • Thank you very much!

  • WERE GETTING CLOSE TO ANIMUSIC FUTURE RETRO

WOOHOO KEEP DOING THIS i LOVE IT

  • All this needs is 'up/down' controlled by modulation and brightness controlled by an iris servo to react to volume commands !! this would look awesome in a dance event pointing at some meaningful pictures as it reacts to the pre programmed sound. I love it and I want one !!!!!! I have Sonar studio and a motu midi express so i could output commands thru a spare midi out socket on the back of it ! just need servos and hardware to put it all together now but have no idea how you did this lol

  • Actually is not needed an iris to dim it, I could dim by controlling its voltage, the actual device is not able to do this by now, but I can modify it to do, my priority is to make the laser react to pitch/bend commands... but no time to do that =(

  • @ChicoDaRave its a shame you dont have spare time mate, this project is amazing and would still look great at any venue!! Im surprised you havent been contacted to mass produce them !!

  • @ChicoDaRave Most lasers (solid state ones anyway) don't take well to voltage regulation. You're probably better off using PWM to control brightness.

  • hi this version of Robert Miles - Children sounds so spatious etc. what version is this ?

  • hi stupid me I mean Fable ofcourse :)

  • It is Dreams version

  • @ChicoDaRave Thanks !

  • with some smoke, any laser beam gets visible ;]

  • And how do you exactly make a laser beam visible? I mean, we all had laser pointers. You can only see the dot on the spot you're pointing at. Yours looks like a damn lightsaber.

  • @Nireih IOts probably only visiale on camera like that. In real life you would probably only see a dot on teh wall unless it was projecting through smoke

  • Is this a green laser hooked up to a fast servo or motor. Or a mirror reflecting the light from a beam? Im doing an engineering course and at the end of it im hoping to have made a musical Tesla coil and a few lasers like this one. I think your a genius! Im Subscribing! 5*

  • where or how can i find this laser?can i make it? plz get back at me!!!

  • Hello Spartanw3b... it is hard to believe, but is just a 30mw green laser pointer, I believe you can find this easily.

  • How do you make this? Instructions? Tutorial? Where can I download the controller software?

  • Sorry friend, I dont enough time to a tutorial... if you find a tutorial "how have time" or "how to MAKE time" I will be thankfull. The controller software can be any MIDI software, in this case is Cubase.

  • There needs to be someone really rich that can afford enough lasers to put on a show a la Heavy Light.

  • not exactly...i picked up a 50mW green laser at amazon for just $20!
