  • Do I have to use the pureed corn at all? I'd rather use the actual corn bits use instead..

  • @DevilzDontCry Actual corn bits is fine.

  • Thanks Betty!! I used to buy that bear creek potato soup mix from costco and add ham and jazz it up with frozen corn and other things to make it my own. But costco stopped selling soo i'm been looking to make my own and yours looks easy and very tasty. (i've NEVER tried bacon and looks awesome!!) and a great change up to just getting a very thick slice of ham from grocery store deli sammich meat. Thanks Betty

  • Hi. Enjoyed the video and recipe. I love corn chowder. It's one of my favorite things. Looks delicious.

  • you're so cute when you said "and.. a nice cup of ... ice tea :D"

this recipe looks great, I'm going to make it this weekend, but I think i might add a little extra corn, and some thymes to season it up.

I like that you're recipe is more corn based than milk.

  • @loveshenialways The intro was designed by a couple of guys from Budapest, Hungary. I don't know what the song is.

  • i am going to try this! looks yummy! Can I add bell peppers to this, and if so, at what point may I do so?

  • Thanks for your nice comment! Yes, green pepper would be great in this! Just chop them and cook them along with the onion and continue from there!

  • Hi Betty,

As you can see I did get by here to get the Corn Chowder recipe even though that Light Lemon Pie is still calling my name..LOL Maybe I'll just do them both and that way I won't have to make a decision. I'll have dinner and my dessert !

Thanks for all your wonderful ideas and recipes and I am sharing them with friends..:)

Take care and I'll see you back here soon.

Thanks for your nice comment! As you can probably tell, I have fallen behind in answering my comments--Maybe someday I will catch up! I do think of you often, and I greatly appreciate all the support you have given me! Have a beautiful day in Arkansas!

  • Whoa, nice intro Betty. When did it change.

  • I started using the new intro last Friday. It was designed and sent to me by a couple of really nice guys from Budapest, Hungary. I am really pleased with it!

  • the tv is no

  • Nice.

  • Another lovely recipe Betty. I like the crispy bacon topping and not too much salt. Richard :-)

  • OM NOM NOM NOM

  • great recipe betty:) im just curious, here in UK most of our bacon is pure meat and only a little bit of rind so its really lean but it seems in USA you guys only have streaky with lost of grease or do you have lean bacon also?xx

  • Hi!

We have various types of bacon, some leaner than others, but mostly it's like I used in this chowder. There is the option of turkey bacon and "imitation" bacon, but in a typical grocery store, there isn't much really lean bacon.

  • the opening is nice,

    great editing!

  • Although I've never tried it, they have soy bacon in the produce section of some supermarkets. Personally, I use the oscar meyer center cut bason that comes in a resealable plastic carton, and it works fine.

  • mmmm creamy betty

  • mmmmmm...looks awesome. I make a vegetarian potato corn chowder...gives a similar result, but a different flavor profile. I should try your recipe next time.

  • Nice, looks good thanks for sharing!
