@theladylaurel What i read on his website is that he was tracing his father's history when he came upon a wooden cross with the name "Damaris" on it in a graveyard where his ancestors lay.He searched for info on her and he found out that she fell in love with the Parish priest's son,Lewis, back in the 19th century.She was denied of this love because she wasn't of his religion.Patrick Wolf wrote this is the perspective of Lewis after he finds out that she commited suicide.
