  • Too slow, much too slow. Sounds like a funeral music.

  • Yup I just ripped this mp3 at convertyourtunes..com. Its true.

  • オルガンでの演奏はまたすばらしいですね!

  • Totaly agree with kempedkemp, 3 years ago. Have you learned? Very interesting version indeed. will you post again? Hope so!

  • ... and just how old was he? Amazing.

  • Each to their own I suppose!!!?

I love elgar's Pomp and Circumstance, but this is the first time I've heard it organ only. Not bad, but not my cup o' tea really!

  • Why is it "exquisite"? Have you any idea what the hell you're talking about?

  • Quite the best arrangement of this wonderful piece of Elgar. Mr Watanabe plays it well, but rather a bit slowly. \this supposed to be a marge, not a funeral procession. Must agree there were a few mistakes in the playing, and the accoustics are very poor. All in all quite enjoyable, but that arrangement is exquisite.

  • I surely don't know what Geiler was on about. I suppose we will be seeing his flawless mesmorized performance up here on the Tube sometime soon? I can't find any fault with the sound of this organ coming through my crrappy little speakers. It sounds lively and sparkling. Garland seems to know something about voicing in a dry room. And, Mr. Wantanabe seems to know how to play Elgar!

  • Quite an epic performance. Very enjoyable to listen to.

  • I've got to learn this!

  • Yes, I think you are.

  • Now don't be too quick to criticize. but i do agree with the sound of the organ. Its sounds rather dry and dull.

  • English composer, Japanese organist, American organ.

    Result?

Quality performance of good music delivered by a bad source. I do bang on about it but the acoustics of that church are horrific.

  • A powerful performance with a great ending.

  • Very nice work. The end was magnificent. The middle theme was done very well also. Just my humble opinion, slow down the first part a hair and a bit more legato. See the video of Elgar conducting it on Youtube! Have you played any of his organ pieces other than this? Quite a fellow.

  • A pleasure to the ears and the mind.Thank you!

  • Bravo! Excellent performance.

    muito bom!

    vibrante.

  • Sounds like Land of hope and Glory

  • That's odd, isn't it.... (Sarcasm) Land of Hope and Glory is actually the trio theme of this piece - the words were later set to the music.

  • Duh!!

  • Bravo! Excellent performance. I was pleasantly surprised how good this piece sounds in an organ transcription.

    Thanks for posting.

  • All of your organ performance videos are great! If I had to make a suggestion, I would say that you should be a little more legato, not just in this video, but other's as well. Overall, Great job!

  • I agree, but take into consideration the

    accustics. It's terrible.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I really enjoyed it. You made it look so easy. I'm still such a novice, but I've got good teachers and a drive to learn. There isn't enough room here for me to say all I want to say about the pipe organ. I'll sum it up by telling you how, at a small recital in NJ, I offered my guitarist friend good luck. He then asked me, "Where's your instrument?" I smiled at him. I told him, "We're standing in it!"

  • Wow! What fantastic playing and skill. You play with great emotion, which sometimes gets overlooked by some organists who just want to show off. You're not one of those. Bravo! Please record Sir Edward Elgar's NIMROD from the "Enigma Variation".

  • Wow! Wonderful playing!

  • <3 this osng because i'm from Elgar's home country long live England Usa's parent.

  • Fantastic playing!

  • BRAVO!!! Your sense of phrasing, tempo, and rythymic control are superb! Thank you!!!!!

  • Wonderful. Thank you.

  • Thanks for posting this Kiyow, I am enjoying all of your recordings.

  • that chromatic lead in to the graduation march must be difficult to play because it's done on the pedals.

  • I am 13 years old.I have already been organist at my church ant the hardest song I can do is Toccata in D minor.Would you recomend that I stay with it? for I have been at in for two years.

  • Of course!! The world needs organists, especially churches. I'm always glad to see young organists.

  • I think MIDI can fill in if the organ is so equipped. A pianist can make the transition to the organ, as they are both keyboard instruments. All that is needed is to learn about different stops, manuals, and the pedal keyboard. If Kiyo will be gone for some time, he can record music for the services in which he will be absent as MIDI files.

  • I think they already have "digital pipes".

The 32' reed does not sound very real to me!

  • Is Kiyo the resident organist at FUMC, Wichita? I make it through the area now and then and would like to see it in person.

  • Please visit my church any time. However, I am in Wichita Falls, Texas, not to be confused with Wichita, Kansas.

  • Nice job. Have you heard the Virgil Fox recording done on the Wannamaker? What a sound with all those strings stops.

  • Yes, the Wannamaker organ is great, and Virgil Fox is the best!

  • WOW! What an energetic and precise organsit.

  • Sounds muffled at the begining play out more, and at a little bit of a faster tempo

    Great Job Though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Forgotten how good this piece is - great to hear it on the organ.

  • bravo!
